The bed was sooooo comfortable and we will definitely return in summer, when we can take advantage of the fabulous swimming pool. We were met by Henk, who was really friendly. We also met Sandra the next morning who prepared a stunning breakfast for us and was such a warm, beautiful person.

We arrived late and decided to stay in for our meal, and it was a good decision, followed by a full and abundant breakfast in the morning. We spent the morning walking and shopping the village, and all shopkeepers just as pleasant. The gardens were stupendous and very appreciated.

The attention to detail was well thought of. Complimentary rusks were the best we have ever had. The farm fresh eggs were tasty and the Muscadel was a sweet treat for the end of the night. Henk was a superb host and made sure we got day passes at Gauna Caves which the kids enjoyed.
The unit is so beautiful and had everything one would ever need. Although we were close to town it felt isolated enough to unwind and recharge.
The best part of the stay was having full assess the farm grown veg and fruit.
We will definitely be back again.

Home away from home. Well appointed. Absolutely everything you need was there. Large veranda with spectacular view of the mountains and orchards. Working farm. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely braai area, even wood, fire starters, barbecue utensils included. Second time to visit. Will be back

A quaint town tucked away in the mountains of the western cape, a true paradise for hikers, relaxers and tourists alike.
It offers a lot of really great restaurants and shops.
Very safe, easy to navigate all while being surrounded by beautiful scenery.

We stayed in the log cabins: functional and clean, well appointed but rustic. Four hour drive from Cape Town. Quiet and peaceful. Spectacular night skies, awesome vistas. Ideal if you want to sit and relax in a karoo landscape, but remember your paint-box and novel, and a fan (in summer): they've got games to borrow, and ice, cool drinks and fatty lamb chops to buy. What a great place. We enjoyed every minute. Hanno was there to meet us and check us in which was done very smoothly. The home made bread and milk was a welcome treat on arrival.

We had a great trip with Wine Valley Safaris on one of the days, visiting wine farms, tastings the different wines and ending with a cruise on the Breede River, while we had a lunch and a bottle of wine.

The 4x2 trail was perfect to test out my repaired Pajero's rear diff. The accommodation was comfortable and perfect for families to entertain each other with board games. The balcony provides a perfect setting to sit outside on camp chairs while dad is tending to the braai.

We stayed in Honey Bee Cottage.
We stayed in Honey Bee Cottage. It has 2 rooms with big comfy beds. The cottage was clean and spacious. The kitchen had everything we needed. The outside braai (BBQ) is a barrel so can be moved. The splash pool and hot-tub are nice (although we did not use the hot-tub).
The only negatives was that the one bathroom/shower is shared by both bedrooms (each room has a door leading into the bathroom). I was also surprised at how close the neighboring cottage was, as none of the photos showed this.
