An absolute little jewel in the Gritjie private game reserve. JP & Danielle and at the time also their daughter Camille gave our honeymoon stay the absolute perfect touch. Extra champagne and a personal congratulations card gives you bubbles in your belly as well. 🥰 JP is an excellent ranger with a lot of knowledge which he enjoys to share and Danielle make the best food to your preferences you can imagine. You can rest assured that you will not leave this place hungry. This is the best safari experience we have ever had. Although we did not see an overwhelming amount of animals but that is a total lottery. This stay was totally A-mazing!!! 🤩😍

The lodge is secluded, perfect for when one needs to be away from the city. All rooms have pool and garden view with bord sounds throughout the day,the tranquility is top notch. The rooms are big with large showers that always have hot water. There are aircons in the room. The staff, mme Antoinette and her team with ntate Josiah, always there to serve with smiles on their faces. I loved everything about Normann Safari bush lodge!

Our hosts were great. The food was delicious. We had a great stay. Next time, I'd prefer to stay a bit longer to truly appreciate the lodge. We were only there for one night.

Everything. We only booked this accommodation as a one night stopover on our way north. Wow, what a little gem. Exceptionally warm welcome from Anna and Willhem. Very tastefully fitted out and spotlessly clean. Fitted with everything you need. Definitely worth a longer stay. Bushveld Terrace was an excellent place to eat.

The breakfast was amazing,we looked forward to the breakfast every morning.I don’t drink coffee,my husband had coffee and he still says it’s the best.Mr Dave is super friendly and helpful & so is everyone who works there. There’s a lady who helped to hold my baby while I finished dressing up for a wedding and I appreciated that so much..though I felt it was an inconvenience on her side. They also organised a mattress for my two children to sleep on coz the family rooms were fully booked. The place is breathtaking..I wish we had stayed for more days. It’s also convenient because of where it’s situated. The room was clean with good ventilation and also child friendly. When you request for anything, there’s a quick response. We loved the place and we’ll definitely be booking again the next time we go to Phalaborwa.

We got a beautiful, cozy, clean room with a "gallery" and 4 beds (thanks for the upgrade). There is also a fridge, a coffee maker and plates/cuttlery in the room. It is conveniently situated, only a few km from Phalaborwa gate in a quiet zone. There is a Kwikspar to buy a few things within walking distance. There is also a beautiful garden with a lot of plants and one can even cook/braai. We just had our picnic there, which was very relaxing.

The lodge is located in a private reserve, making it a very safe and quiet place to stay with stunning views. Our guide, Kris, was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to. He is a smooth driver and shared so much fascinating knowledge about every animal we encountered. A highlight was the coffee break during each game drive—it was so nice to stretch our legs and enjoy some delicious desserts in the wild!

This was a great hotel to relax and do nothing but reading and swimming. Great bungalow. Great pool with enough seats. Good breakfast. Nice dinners. Staff attentive. It was a real pleasant experience. If you want, Entrence Kruger is nearby. As is the supermarket and petrolstation.

Like most small towns in South Africa the roads are neglected with multiple pot holes in most secondary roads. The town has a selection of restaurants and shopping facilities. An ideal stop over before entering the Kruger National Park.

A fantastic private lodge with a beautiful rooms and tastefully decorated. The host Ian is outstanding as a person. If you are there especially for the hide photography I would recommend 4 days. We were unlucky with the two days we stayed in terms of sightings but that all changed the day we left. Hence would recommend at least 3 if not 4-5 days to better your chances.

I liked the fact that it is away from civilization into the wild but very safe. We could connect easily with nature and have our quiet time. The experience at night is amazing ..all you can hear are animal sounds an experience we never get with our busy schedules. An amazing reminder of what God has created, peace and tranquility. Seeing the animals was amazing . We prepared food ourselves it was amazing. It's very easy to get around Gravelotte..we were constantly communicating with the hosts. I would avoid having a short stay and book for the whole week. It's worth it. Thank you sooooo much for the excellent service and breathtaking stay. We are definitely coming back. Keep up the amazing service. God bless you.

We arrived after 7pm, but was still greeted with a smile. Within minutes the administration was finalized and we were on our way to the chalet. Since we left at around 5am the following morning, they arranged for some toasted sandwiches and juice to take away since we were too early for breakfast. Would recommend them to other travelers.

Phalaborwa as a town was a deep disappointment.

Phalaborwa as a town was a deep disappointment. The roads are in a very bad state and the general condition of the streets, pavements and rubbish lying around is a disgrace for the municipality. There are no streetlights working and the overall deterioration of the town is the last thing one wants to show overseas visitors. The tar road leading to the Kruger gate is obviously in a good condition but that is all. The Pick and Pay and the Spur are closed due to a fire incident and there are not a lot of restaurants to go to dinner for.

its a big 5.

its a big 5. BUT because of so many private properties you can not game drive much of the reserve like other reserves and also within the reserve the owners of the lodges seem to not like each other that much. they gossip a lot about each other ( i did stay in different places in this reserve ) and i did not have this issue in other game reserves.
