Staff attentiveness was excellent. Breakfast fantastic - lots of choice. Very intimate and quiet setting yet easy to get to any wine farm. Highly and frequently stocked personal mini bar. Super efficient check in and out, with early check in - thank you Janet! This accommodation was so good, it ruined or next Airbnb in Cape Town. I highly recommend this guesthouse to anyone wanting comfort and first class service on the cusp of Stellenbosch wine farms.

Amazing location and rooms. The staff really do go above and beyond to ensure guests have a great experience. I hesitate to single out individuals because service was consistently so good, however I am particularly thankful that Brandon went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. All of the serving staff at breakfast and Nick the catering manager were also fantastic.

The accommodation was easy to find and equipped with everything required for a short or longer stay. It is furnished beautifully in a very central location. I travelled for work and stayed one night only, but would definitely like to return. This is an ideal basis from which to explore the vicinity. In addition the staff are friendly and most helpful.

There is something truly special about visiting Stellenbosch...

There is something truly special about visiting Stellenbosch, especially knowing it has been almost 10 years since I studied in the area. Although we have been back for a few trips over the years, this visit felt particularly special as a little 10-year milestone. We arrived and headed straight to the Stellenbosch Botanical Gardens, where we enjoyed our favourite scones and tea, and were pleasantly surprised by a beautiful Saturday market, which was lovely to walk around. We enjoyed plenty of wonderful food and drinks at Fat Butcher, Peter Falke, Spek ’n Bone, Decameron, and Spier Wine Farm. We would highly recommend all of these wonderful spots and loved having the opportunity to visit them again. Spier was especially lovely to visit, with its beautiful surroundings and relaxed atmosphere. The mountain views were absolutely exquisite, and we were incredibly lucky with our timing as the Western Cape had experienced snow over the weekend. Seeing the snow-covered mountains in Franschhoek was truly beautiful. We also enjoyed a lovely walk and delicious pastries at Babylonstoren. Stellenbosch remains one of our favourite towns to visit, with so much to see, do, eat, and experience. It was wonderful to return for this special 10-year milestone, and we’ll definitely be back again soon!

Near all major roads and towns, yet out of town in a quiet rural setting with beautiful views and a peacful environment. Several restaurants and wine in the immediate vicinity or within 15 minutes drive. Most wine farms have great restaurants. Avoid Stellenbosch during peak traffic times.

It has beautiful views and lovely walking and running paths/roads next to vineyards and other farms. On arrival snacks were awaiting us. Yoghurts and muesli was lovingly placed in the kitchen and filled daily even though we did not opt for breakfast. It was really a lovely gesture. Highly recommend this stay!

Friendly staff with great accommodation super comfy beds and very spacious. The garden is beautiful and the breakfast was five star quality! If you want to visit wine farms and visit the country this is a MUST stay. It is close to Franschhoek and if you need to go to town Stellenbosch is not far away. We came here from England for dental treatment and to attend the LifeShine Wellness centre which we can highly recommend. This is on the border of Somerset West and Stellenbosch. It is a beautiful area with lots going for it. We have visited the Helderberg Nature Reserve which is a joy. Lots of super Wine Farms with excellent restaurants. Some fun restaurants in Somerset West. Favourite eating places are Ben's on the Beach Restaurant on the sea front. Idiom wine farm in the hills above Somerset West. Up market outstanding food. Costly but worth it for a special occasion. Mary Anne's Emporium vegan restaurant in town was recommended at the Wellness Clinic and we enjoyed a different eating experience. This is week days only and not evenings. So breakfast and lunch. Farmer's and craft markets which we so enjoy as we get to meet people who love and want to talk about their craft. A long beach to walk and swim from, at the Strand if you get the tides right! Having a car is essential! Weather very variable in September into October. One day winter and the next summer! Foggy today.

Stellenbosch is a beautiful and historic town with fantastic old buildings, and a wonderful setting in the mountains. Lots of lovely, traditional and quirky shops and a very nice vibe when you walk through the town. We mostly walked and that was easy to do as it is not a huge place. We had superb food with real 5 star quality at The Fat Butcher. Enjoyed a trruly delicious burger at Hudsons and had another fantastic cosy corner pub-style meal experience at The Painted Dog. All the waiting staff and servers (mostly young students) were excellent. For those who love the whimsical I hughly recommend the Stellenbosch Toy Museum. It is wonderful!

By the end of the first night we regretted not booking for more days. Karen is a super-host among all I have experienced. Her kindness, availability and willingness to help us is deeply appreciated. The recommendations to the local attractions were spot on and amplified our stay even more. We will miss the conversations, the curious and friendly dogs and the generous chickens. It honestly felt more like home and we will make an excuse just to stay again when we are in town.
