NetherlandsGreat location, close to wineries and hiking trails, beautiful garden, secure and safe, spacious and clean… but the best part are the generous new owners of this hidden gem. We felt truly welcome and pampered. From the delicious breakfast (with fresh fruit from the garden) and the cappuccino (indeed the best, outside of Italy) to the homemade pasta (try it!) and the special veg soup for those with the weaker stomachs (thanks again for fixing that issue). We had the most relaxed two nights stay and cannot recommend this place enough. So thank you Diego, Reka and of course friendly old dog Thiago, we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Breakfast was delicious, Bonus!! I LOVED their coffee shop, the most delicious muffins and cuppucinno, the position under the trees is tranquil whilst walking distance to the beach. The security aspect of the property, the cleanness of the property and most of all the friendly staff from the cleaner right through to the owner. It is essentially located in Gordon Bay which makes it convenient to walk either to the local shop or the beach. Nothing is too difficult for the owner and staff to complete and assist you with. I would highly recommend them as an option in Gordon Bay.

Gordon's Bay appears to have been left behind in time, which...
Gordon's Bay appears to have been left behind in time, which appeals to me. The beaches are clean, there is a book store, gift shop and fish & chip shop amongst others which offer excellent value. The people are friendly, I was always greeted by passersby when walking on the beach. The town is also well protected from the wind, whilst blowing strongly elsewhere the town was calm and protected by the surrounding mountains. The little bay is a gem and the nearby scenery is international level.

Don't try and walk to Lions Head from this location.
Don't try and walk to Lions Head from this location. You will be exhausted before you start. Start from the Lions Head parking at the base of the mountain. We failed because of being too ambitious.
There is an Italian restaurant close by. We only had breakfast, but the meal, service and decor were special. Very memorable and worth the little bit extra.

This accommodation has a verry bad neighbourhood! You have to drive to a really unpleasant area to get to the small holdings which are then fenced and secured. But huge warning since at the gate shows how safe the area is😉

Gordons Bay Beach needs a cleanup. Weather was bad so we cannot comment on water quality. However it looked dirty maybe due to bad weather. Bossa at Strand Pavilion is a good option for any meal or drink with a fantastic location.

The area was ok.
The area was ok. I would not walk around alone or in the evenings though. West side does not seem save to my opinion.
Main street very busy. People enjoyed walking the pets and strolling.

I enjoyed getting to know Gordon’s Bay and the second hand...
I enjoyed getting to know Gordon’s Bay and the second hand book shop, which understandably draws visitors from miles around.
The mountain, where Manor House is located in Sir Lowry’s Pass, shared many different delights every day including beautiful horses, an Italian vineyard (ahem winery), a steam train complete with cheerful “toot!”
The mountains themselves give the scene an Alpine feel; the urge to sing may be unavoidable.

Our room was right at the end of the floor, close to the staff communal toilet.
Clinton tried to get us moved to a new room since the patio door in our room was faulty. He also brought us a fan to counter the heat after complained that the aircon was not working properly. The reception staff refused to assist. Their excuse is that there was a mining indaba in Cape Town and they were fully booked. This was their response to any requests. I believe that we deserve the same level of service as any big mining company executive because we all pay the same rate.

It’s an RDP house in a township it was dark and you can not...
It’s an RDP house in a township it was dark and you can not drive over ons u you get to that street it’s a dead end……after we arrived we noticed a black BMW then, we daparted as soon as possible …it also departed ons we moved im sure they are using that house to rob people.
