I've been to quite a few self catering places this year and nothing compares to River Edge. The finer details, like
arriving and the hot tub is already warm,
welcome gin and tonic with a lemon,
enough towels for bathing and swimming.
Air fryer.
Fire lighters,
filter coffee.... to name a few
It was the best office to work at during our mid week stay.

It was absolutely breath taking and the cottage was very well equipped, clean and comfy. It looked exactly like the photos and Elaina went and even put the aircons on just before our arrival so we walked into a cool cottage. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be going back myself. Thank you for a wonderful getaway.

A beautiful Cape Dutch house on historic Church Street. The reception staff were very kind and friendly, which made me feel welcome. Breakfast served on lovely old blue china was a special memory — it felt like stepping back in time.

Its an old town with lots of character and charm, especially on Church Street. Love how you are totally surrounded by the mountains, and the sunsets were beautiful. Great place to explore the areas wine farms.

If you need a breakaway from the hustle and bustle of city life, then Mountain Manor Villa is your answer. The property is situated at the foot of the mountains with spectacular views and beautiful sunsets. It is quiet and you feel extremely close to nature. We did not visit other attractions in the Wolseley area.

The owner was so accommodating the room looks very romantic with roses on the bed and a complimentary drink perfect place for couples staff very friendly even gave you a massarge and foot scrub will definitely recommend this place and wil b back soon

Church Street and its four museums was well worth the visit...
Church Street and its four museums was well worth the visit and the walk down its whole length very interesting. It was clean and the old houses well restored and maintained. In general, there should be some detail of the artifacts in the museums (e.g. what year are they?, what were they used for? where did they come from? This would be of much more value to a visitor than "Do not touch" The 1969 earthquake museum was particularly interesting with its stories and pictures .
We found good cafes in the main street. However, there was a sense of the slow decay that is taking place in many small towns, with an abundance of litter being added to in front of our eyes.

Our chalet in Wolseley was situated in a beautiful mountainous & fynbos surrounded relaxing area, perfect for some downtime & bird watching while chilling in the pool. It would even work amazingly as a more remote work from home destination. Make sure you check the weather forecast ahead of your stay as well to ensure you pack for all 4 seasons if necessary, check your route on waze for any construction or traffic jams, and ensure your rented car can handle the dirt roads, uphill and is a high clearance vehicle if there have been heavier rains recently.

The town itself is not as quaint as expected, but the restaurants and hotel make up for that. The wine farms in the area are all gorgeous and the road to each is scenic, with the mountain range forming the backdrop. i enjoyed it.

Lovely country restaurants, farm stalls and wine farms.
Lovely country restaurants, farm stalls and wine farms. Close to Ceres for the zip-lining and Matroosberg for hiking. Added bonus was cherry picking at Klondyke and a dip in the rock pools by Tweede Tol picnic spot.
