It was great that a lot of thought has gone into the space. Providing little extras that we did't expect like braai tongs, salt, water in the fridge etc.

A very pleasant stay. The room was clean, spacious, and well equipped, with an extremely comfortable bed that gave us some of our best sleep in nearly 3 months of travelling around South Africa. The view and scent of the ocean from the room are both stunning and relaxing, and watching the sun set from our sea-facing balcony was also superb. A lovely place to stay for a few nights and their fish shop behind the accommodation is very convenient for a wide range of delicious fish options to cook in the apartment. Thanks for the good advice on our fish selections!

Doringbaai is a very small fishing community with holiday accommodation . There is a general store and fuel available . The little harbor is beautiful between the huge rocks . The restaurant on the pier and wine cellars are the main attraction to make a visit worth. The food is very good and everybody is friendly and helpful. The Police is very visible and patrol regularly to keep the little town safe. We also have dinner at SEE SPENS and the food was good. The dirt roads towards Elandsbaai is good and at Elandsbaai in the harbor is a restaurant " ISSABELLAS" not to be missed , very very good food .There are so many good things in the area to explore that I cannot mention every thing we saw and experience.

It was easy to get around and find a few shops to buy some essentials. Unfortunately was on a work visit so did not find the time to go to the recommended restaurant, which is a little further away than I expected.

A great little town centrally based for flowerwatching and West Coast travelling. We made use of bed and breakfast accommodation and had take aways, obtainable from a nearby restaurant for Dinner, which was very good.

A great place to stay out of the normal run of tourists. Good roads getting there. Very friendly hostess, who went out of her way to assist us. Given the area very limited restaurant availability, but the attached service was great and well priced.

We spent four nights in Vredendal, and it was absolutely lovely! The butcher in the Check-In shop is outstanding, the meat is superior and definitely worth visiting. Nice shopping mall with the essential shops, lovely scenic little town, not far from Strandfontein beach.

What a gem of the West Coast!

What a gem of the West Coast! Full of surprises, from the excellent Thorn Bay accommodation, Fryer's Cove winery and restaurant (try the perlemoen, that's abalone for the non-locals). Great beaches, Doringbaai itself and in nearby Strandfontein. The tar road via Lutzville's the safest choice, but we enjoyed the southern access sneaking through the railway service road more.
