The large balcony with an ocean view was spectacular. The apartment is located on the first street from the ocean, so we had an unobstructed view and could hear the sounds of the waves crashing. The spa tub was very nice. The hosts, Vitor and Gabriella, were extraordinarily helpful both in communicating before our stay and helping us during our stay, including washing our clothes for us when the washer in the apartment failed to work. However, in general, it is a huge plus to have a washer and dryer in the unit, as it's always an issue to find a way to do one's laundry when traveling. Vitor even ran to catch the bus to central Porto for us, after accompanying us to the bus stop. The accordion doors closing off the balcony helped a lot with the noise from the road in front of the apartment. We had no problem with noise. We were given a welcoming couple of glasses of port upon arrival and on one other day, when our apartment was cleaned and the linens changed, Housekeeping was provided every other day. We enjoyed staying in Foz do Douro instead of in central Porto, as the streets are flatter (I am mobility-limited). There is a long asphalt promenade along the sea right in front of the apartments. There are good restaurants near the apartments. There is a coffee maker in the apartment and a small kitchen.

The staff was very kind and helpful. As we were the only ones at the facility, we were offered a kind upgrade. We were also offered breakfast baskets delivered to the door. The breakfast was very complete and with good products. I recommend.

Right in the heart of town, a minute from the beach. Very comfortable with all amenities., Super thoughtful and friendly host. I have stayed here before, so I knew it was a good idea to book here again.

Den stora semesteranläggningen Axis Ofir Hotel omges av pinjeträd och ligger nära floden Cávado och en strand vid Atlanten. På hotellet finns allt från en bowlingbana till tennisbanor och en lekplats.... All the staff at this resort were so friendly, accommodating and always available for anything we needed. I have never seen a dining room as well organized as the breakfast buffet at this resort. Most efficient by all the workers and managers. A table was never sitting with dirty dishes for more than a few moments and then it was cleaned and ready for the next customers. Fantastic staff. The hotel grounds are beautiful , the rooms are very plain but adequate and the beds clean and comfortable. Location is great because the Free bus that takes you to Apulia and Esposende stops there so you can visit either of those cities. The town of Fao is within walking distance and has a nice riverside boardwalk and some very nice restaurants. The hotel pool is huge and if you like the beach better, it is just steps away.

We stayed at Bruval Eco Retreat only one night and regretted that we didn’t book more night there. Our stay was amazing. Accommodation was amazingly designed, modern, with private jacuzzi and swimming pool. Equipped with everything you need for comfortable stay with the family and a dog.
