the staff was amazing, they were very helpful in everything regarding the tours, suggestions, where to go, etc.. they even booked us a tour. the location is exactly in the center, walking distance to everything.

The staff were incredibly friendly and gave great restaurant recommendations. The room was big and clean. The overall hotel is stunning- we found out from the staff it's one of the first built hotels in Sarande! The bed was incredibly comfortable and massive. The views from the balcony and the breakfast area are exceptional and the location is amazing!

PortugalThe biggest downside is the toilet literely inside the shower and super small. While showering the whole bathroom would get wet, even the toilet and paper toilet since it was in front of the walk-in shower in a very short distance. The shower sink whole was not clean, there were hair there when we arrived and despite the cleaning ladies going every day to change towels, it was never cleaned during our 3 night stay. Another downside were how hard the mattress was.
The staff were great, super helpful. The parking lot was life saving since it is very hard to park in Sarande. The pool view was super, with a view around the city. Also, despite some comments, the pool was clean and every day we saw the staff picking leaves that entered the pool. It is in front of the beach and restaurants, location is great.

My friends and I we travelled to celebrate our Birthdays and we had a wonderful experience and staff service especially from the guy on the reception called Martin, he was very friendly and very helpful, recommended us places to go and have great traditional meals, the hotel is great located, no more than 3 min walking to the beach, it is a gorgeous family place, the owner and his mother were fantastic too.

RomaniaThe hotel needs some minor renovations and the fridge in the room was not functional. However, from what I have discussed with other tourists, Monte Cristo hotel is among the best hotels in Saranda.
I loved the sea view from the balcony and the fact that it was close to everything: bars, bus station, beach. The breakfast was also very good and the room clean. But what made me give a higher score to the hotel was definitely Marin, who was pretty much everywhere in the hotel when you needed him: reception, bar etc. He provided a lot of info, was very helpful and gave instructions for the euro-Lek conversion so I don’t get scammed. He also mentioned what are the fair prices for activities. Plus he was very friendly and made the stay better.

AustraliaBiggest issue was their false advertising. Their rooftop pool was unusable and looked to be out of commission for some time. Other things falsely stated were a working TV, bar that only had beer when menu's stated wine, spirits and cocktails were available. Staff tried hard to explain bad things away, but he was young and seemed out of his depth. While in the checking area, we overheard a backpacker couple and a elderly woman for England each having a heated and confronting discussion about the venue issues. Might be a great place in a few years.
The view was excellent. Rooms were a good size, but some things didn't work in them. Secure private parking was comforting.

The beautiful Monte Cristo Hotel is of a unique, elegant architecture, with a much-appreciated private car park immediately in front. We have stayed in many Five Star hotels over the years and the high level of magnificent staff service at the Monte Cristo has truly exceeded the standards of many of these. Marino is an outstanding, professional ambassador for Monte Cristo, providing a sincere, enthusiastic greeting, assistance and local information upon arrival - and in excellent English. Typical of staff commitment, thank you also to dedicated Aniste for his cheerful assistance. Unsurprisingly, the cleaning staff are equally charming. Highly recommended is to book a sea view balcony room, this being a pleasantly large terrace with spectacular, unforgettable, panoramic sea and harbour views - and another country, Corfu, Greece, a stone's throw away! Further, amazing swallows flying inches from your balcony! Three nights was too short a stay to fully appreciate the charm and sights of spectacular Sarandë. Thank you and very well done, Monte Cristo Hotel, Marino, Aniste and cleaning staff - we left with heavy hearts but will return again!
