Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing really – just bear in mind that the curtains are slightly thin, so bring an eye mask if you're sensitive to sunlight in the morning!
A very sweet two-room hotel on a cobblestone street with gorgeous views over Berat. The owners are very attentive and kind; I was taken ill while we were here and they sent up tea, juices, and extra blankets. Plus, they make their own wine and raki, which you're invited to try.

PortugalThe owner was very helpfull from the begining. He helped us with the car parking and explained out to check-in. The chek-in is done by yourself, but everything is very well explaind and easy. If you arrive late in the evening it's also a great option. The room was very beautiful and had everything we needed. It's very well located in Berat near all the touristic spots and good restaurants. In the morning they served us a very delicious homemade breakfast. If I return to Berat I will book again. I only have one small recommendation for light sleepers, if you have trouble sleeping with light bring something to cover your eyes. Since this place is located in Berat it's expected to have many windows so in the morning there is a lot of natural light :)

PolandWould be even better if the accepted payments by cards or other money transfers.
Great hosts, beautifully renovated building with just 2 private rooms with nice bathrooms and comfy beds. We were treated with home made wine and raki. Super responsive and helpful communication via WhatsApp, no problems with check in. Pro tip: best place to get a room if you want a genuine Berat traditional home and with no need to climb the hill with your suitcases because that would be the case in many hotels in the area.

FranceThe bedroom and bathroom are very small but cute. The blinds are not thick enough and you can’t be in total dark at night and get wake up super early with the sun.

AustraliaThat we didn't stay longer
My husband and I have travelled to 45 countries and never have we experienced such unbelievable service. We noticed once we arrived in the afternoon that 2 of our tires had deflated. So we asked the guy running the hotel if he knew where to go to get it fixed. The following day he walked to the car with my husband to pump them up so we could drive to where he'd suggested to change them but the holes were too big so he made some phone calls and waited in 38 degree heat with my husband until someone came out to change them for us. Meanwhile the housekeeper back at the hotel told me to put my feet up in the aircon and offered me tea, water and engaged pleasant conversation. She also wouldn't accept our money for the help, we are so grateful for the help! Aside from this, the room was beautiful, design is really cool, breakfast is delish, great location close to everything and they offered us homemade raki and wine. If needing a place to stay I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Berat! ❤️

BelgiumNothing. The room is small but we knew this in advance.
Beautifully and quietly located B&B, at the foot of 1 of the 2 old town quarters of the most beautiful town in Albania. In fact it is situated on the best side of the river because from the room you see the beautiful other old quarter with its '1000 windows' and the Berat castle. The owners are 3 awesome brothers that are all three of them architects, very kind and helpful! Free parking on walking distance. The room is small but is clean and offers the necessary comfort. Breakfast is prepared by a very kind lady and we were offered some great 'homegrown' red wine. We had 2 unforgettable last days of our 2 weeks' holiday in this beautiful country!

A beautiful stay in the heart of Berat. Walking distance to all the main attractions. A very well designed and amazing stay. We absolutely loved the place and the owner goes above and beyond to help you with anything you may need and he himself designed this stunning house. I highly recommend to stay in this place if you get the chance!

United StatesA slice of traditional Albania to romanticize your stay in Berat. The clever design of the house features just two rooms on the second floor leaving a generous ground floor for living and sharing a breakfast or evening wine space. The lovely family hosts prepared our breakfast; they live next door; and we enjoyed a special connection with their home and community. The rooms are authentic with modern bathroom and very comfortable fittings. We chose this place as we wanted to face the famous windows in Berat and be able to have walking distance to meanderings on the river. The home is pure magic and we encourage other visitors to treat themselves to this family's wonderful guest home.

United KingdomCould do with power sockets by the bed on either side. Had to unplug the fridge as it was so noisy. As nice as the stairs look - if you are disabled or have a dodgy knee like mine then this hotel might not be a good idea. Anyone else you will love this place!! ❤️❤️❤️
What is there not to love about this beautiful B&B A recently new renovated building that has been amazingly put together with great views of the old town, river and castle. Before the stay we received the best communication and most helpful communication for all the stays in Albania. On arrival we entered to see the awesome hallway / breakfast room and stairs to our room. Stunning!! The room itself was so cool, amazingly designed and quaint. Bathroom was amazing in particular the walk in shower with a powerful Victorian style shower head above. Could have stayed under the shower for hours. Bedroom - bed was the best bed I’ve slept on for ages! So peaceful and got a brilliant nights sleep (apart from the 5am dogs barking from across the river) Breakfast was also lovely, fresh jam and fresh bread served with a plate of goodies, alongside some nicely made fresh coffee. Our hosts were brilliant and were so helpful and welcoming, massive congrats to them and their B&B 👏👏👏👏
