Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomFamily room (407) was very small for family of 4. Sofa bed inadequate for 2 children (aged 8 &12) to sleep on (squeaky and uncomfortable). We had to put mattress on floor. With that in mind the price was very expensive for the standard of room. Heating too high. Not the fault of the hotel but there was a LOT of noise in the streets late in the evening. Only possible way to sleep was with ear plugs (and we were on the 4th floor).
Quality of food very good. Although note the Trattoria is not inlcuded in half board. This was not known to us when booking. Location great near lifts. Staff very courteous. Bar area very nice. Great kids area. Heated locker for skis.

United KingdomRooms need a refurb, my was a bit grubby and the bathroom was poor, shower was rubbish. My room was facing the car park at the back and was directly over the hotel delivery entrance. There was banging and noise from 5am. Not possible to close the windows as the rooms are too hot.
Great location, fabulous views, really nice communal areas and great food.

GreeceSomeone entered our kids room at 1:00 in the middle of the night!!!! They were terrified!!!! First we heard someone shouting and banging doors and then suddenly someone got in our 20 year-old kids room, which was locked from the inside. They started screaming and whoever it was, left. Then we saw a policeman and a policewoman arresting two people. Of course we didn’t sleep that night. We never learnt who got in the room. The manager told us we were safe and for compensation gave us free parking(50€). I would expect at least not to pay for the night we lost our sleep and the invasion of our privacy!!! Let me say that it was the fourth time we visited this hotel. This is not how you should treat your clients!
The location is great! In the centre of Saalbach, very close to all the ski lifts! The ski room renovated! The food excellent and the staff of the restaurant very polite!

DenmarkBut hold onto your ski poles; there are a few bumps on this slope! The beds... Let's just say they're as firm as the mountain's resolve to challenge skiers. And those street-facing windows? Great for scenic views but not so much for soundproofing – you might catch a free street concert or two.
Ever wished for a hotel where ski lifts are closer than a polar bear's fur? Welcome to JUFA Alpenhotel Saalbach, where the slopes are practically your backyard! The staff? They speak English so smooth, you'll feel like you're ordering pizza back home. And breakfast? Hold on to your knickers because you can order fresh eggs and omelets like you've got a breakfast genie at your service. Not to mention, they've got a ski rental shop just across the street offering discounts sweeter than hot cocoa. Plus, buying lift passes here saves more time than it takes to put on your snow boots. Now, onto the ski lockers—they're like magical treasure chests for your gear. And while parking might come with a tiny price tag, it's worth it for the convenience.

SloveniaHotel doesn't have enough parking place for all guests, so if you are late, you need to search it all around Saalbach. In the room was a bit cold with no thermostat. The toilet (without a sink) was separate from the bathroom. Rooms are very different in size. However, overall the stay was pleasant.
Ski-room, Wellness area. Nice and very clean rooms. Friendly staff in restaurant and bar (little less at the reception).

United Kingdom- Size of hotel: We were in low, end of season rainy weekend and not many guests there so was great. However in peak weeks i assume the no of rooms of the hotel does not spell anything good (massive), particularly the spa, looking at the sheer size and number of seats, will probably look like a zoo (but of course its an assumption and by this nature unfair). - Weighting staff was somewhat liberal, tatoo-ed and not too knowledgeable but hey, who doesn't suffer staff problems these days. - The atmosphere in the main restaurant (not the side rooms they seemed cosy) is slightly resembling old style east european dining halls with white light saving bulbs..... small changes could make big change here. -Choice at breakfast and dinner was good/all right and met 4* expectations but not extraordinary.
Staff is attentive and works hard, particularly the owner/manager she was incredibly helpful. Spa is huge and was great when we were there as there was no-one. Hotel has all/most facilities you can wish for and the bar in particular was modern and nice. Generally a good price/quality 4 star hotel. (parts of it were recently upgraded, not sure how they maintain a 'smallish' experience though.

United KingdomJust one small lift serving what is a large hotel, often waited a long time to be able to use it. Some of the restaurant tables were crammed in too close to each other. And the breakfast service seemed understaffed - meaning replenishment of some items was slow.
