Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United KingdomIt took a long time to find the codes to get in (eventually rescued by a lovely lady at the restaurant next-door), and the bathroom facilities are quite old.

Slovakia- no wifi password available at the room (had to investigate) - no official welcome - had contact with the staff only via phone at arrival - no ski-room to dry your ski boots - room very simple with only one roof window yet just as displayed on pictures so expected it
- 3 minutes driving to ski resort parking - clean, warm and tied room and bathroom - good breakfast in the restaurant close-by (eggs, fresh bakery, ham, cheese, spreads and some sweet choice) - quiet nights (there were only about 2 rooms occupied during the weekend on our level) - good wifi signal - close to an aquapark to have good apreski

FinlandTried to mail them before to extend my stay, but no one answered. The owners/staff doesn't speak english. After some confusion, my questions were answered in a phone with the owners daughter (?). No reception at the property. Didn't get any messages or advice where to go to logg in /how to get the key. The property looked empty, but the back door was open. Finally i went to ask the instructions fom the tennis hall restaurant, and got the instructions from there. Unfortunately, they weren't totally correct and for a short while i was a bit confused if i have a room at all. The back door was open during the whole stay (day and night), witch felt a bit unsafe. First i didn't get any hot water to my room. No one told me that i have to run the water 5-10 minutes to get the hot water. First night i didn't wash myself at all because of the lack of hot water. Then in the morning, there was about one hours period, when there wasn't any water coming from the hot side. Finally i washed my hair with ice cold water. Later i got the explanation that ther were some workers that must have shut down the hot water for a while.
Room was clean and quiet. Good comfy bed.

Czech RepublicBreakfast was simle without possibility of choice, but quite ok. Rooms were very basic, but still ok. What I did not like was that 2 out of 3 people serving us did not speak English at all. We were forced to learn basic German. One waitress was first pushing us to make an order while we were having trouble to go through the menu in German. We just needed time. We were somehow struggling to explain her we need time to read it. Then she started blinding/ignoring us because of our inability to speak proper German. We had to push throuh somehow. :)
We did like the possitive attitude of most of the staff.

The most convenient stopover location in Spittal. Good value and easy to find since next to the cable car station. Nothing fancy, but spotlessly clean and with comfortable beds.

SpainIt was very noisy at night and I couldn't leave my bike in my room or other safe place, It was in the hall, where people were going downstairs during all the night. The cleaner entered my room when I was still in bed, at 9,30 and invited me to leave the room as soon as posible (check out was supposed to be at 11...).
The restaurant is good. Price is also good.

This is a no-nonsense, Hostelstyle place but everything was functional and the location is great close to the highway (not in hearing distance). Very friendly and helpful staff, all very functional for an overnight stay towards slowenia. Very satisfied and great value for money

I had to stay in Spittal due an unexpected accident, and my inconvenient day got better by the accommodations:) I booked the cheapest option, but I got a nice private room with shower, and a really good breakfast next morning.
