Security is a bit lax in the lobby, especially at night. My wallet was stolen late on Saturday night in the ground floor lobby when I placed it on my table and took a drink from the self-serve beer kiosk nearby. The hotel is next to the main train station, and some people who are not guests were freely coming into the lobby for the kiosk after hours. The staff were kind and sympathetic, but they did note that thefts have happened before, even from inside the hotel's office. They couldn't offer any help or CCTV access without a police report, and the nearby police only took a statement. No follow-up contact as of a month later. Bottom line: Watch your things, because there's not much that can be done.

Rooms were clean, daily turn down service was great. Breakfast was expansive and worth the price. Staff were friendly. Location was perfect for getting around Vienna quickly via the U-bahn or the trains.

I stayed at this hotel during my three-day visit to Vienna. The hotel is right next to Vienna’s main train station, so there is no transportation problem. You can reach the city center in 10 minutes by metro. Inside the main train station, there are many shops and restaurants that could be useful. Our room was cleaned every day, and I was very satisfied. If I come to Vienna again, I would choose this hotel again.”

This hotel is fantastically well located. It is about 100 yards or less from a main entrance of the Vienna (Wien) Hauptbahnhof, from which a train runs directly to Vienna's airport and other trains run in all directions. If that's not a convenient location... The hotel's self-service breakfast is very generous, with plenty of space allotted to it for sitting down. And I found the staff helpful and friendly. And checking out was as easy as dropping my room keys with envelope-holder into a sort of fishbowl. I would not call it atmospheric, but being there in a heat wave, I was grateful for its powerful air-conditioning. Plus much atmospheric stuff is only a ten minute (??) walk away.

However, there were no toiletries or an iron in the room. I needed to iron clothes for a meeting before my flight. However, when I asked the front desk they told me that both Ibis and Novotel share ONE ironing room between both hotels for all of the guests. Moreover, if I were to have used the iron, I would have to go to the second floor of the iBis, transfer to Novotel, iron my clothes there, ask for access to return to the iBis Hotel from the front desk, with my clothes on a hanger. That is pretty inconvenient. So, I decided to change my outfit and wear a less wrinkled one. I strongly recommend creating two ironing rooms on every other floor.

The location is great. There are several restaurants, bars and attractions close to the hotel (e.g., including AufZug Cafe and Belvedere). The main draw to this hotel is that it is across the street from the Wien Hauptbahnhof, with direct trains to the airport. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

No bottled water in the rooms. Though this is available at the dispenser in the lobby. Recommend you get yourself bottled war and beverages from the SPAR nearby.

Excellent location as a base for using the trains as the hotel is next to the main train station in Vienna. Lots of Restaurants and shops around the hotel.

Drinking water is accessible only at a dispenser in the lobby. (Advisable to buy bottled water from the SPAR nearby). Laundry services only available in the sister hotel (The Novotel) within the same building.

Excellent location to the main rain station in Vienna. Recommended for those looking to stay in Vienna while going to watch the Austrian Formula One race. Clean Rooms and lots of restaurants in the area.
