Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineI didn't like the fact that classical music is on in the hotel. My room was on the 3rd floor, and yet I could hear in my room (reaching from the ground floor), without the possibility to turn it off. I had to wait until 22.00 to have it turned off. I guess that nowadays everyone who needs music could listen to it from his/her own phone.
I am very grateful to the reception employee, who allowed me to check in earlier than planned. Thank you! I liked that the hotel is located quite close to the downtown, in a very nice and quiet neighbourhood. My room was very clean. Even though I didn't have time to have breakfast, the employee of the hotel fixed me 2 sandwiches to go, which was very kind of him.

United KingdomThe biggest problem is that the matresses are old. We had a hard time sleeping at night because the bed springs wore out and curved outwards. They must definitely be renewed. Also, while I appreciate the effort with the complimentary shampoos, the tiny sachets are a bit of a letdown. Not only are they inconvenient, but they're also not great for the environment. Consider going for larger, refillable containers to tackle both issues. Towels are a little old but clean.
In terms of price benefit balance it's an ideal choice. It's conveniently just 5 tram stops away (tram number 2), making it a solid choice if you're looking for accessibility. Breakfast is standard but satisfying. Kudos to the staff, though. They're a friendly and helpful bunch, adding a positive touch to the stay. In a nutshell, I'd recommend this hotel for a short stay. It's got its perks, but addressing those mattresses and going a bit greener on the toiletries would make it an even better choice.

CanadaThe room staff did not clean, just made the beds and emptied the trash. The walls in our room were dirty and marked, there was mold in the bathroom and the shower curtain was useless, the floor flooded. One plug in the room was not sufficient. Breakfast was so so. We had stayed in a lot of hotels about this style and price range, all of which had a cappuccino machine. Korotan did not and the coffee was very bitter and old tasting. The tea was cheap and not very tasty.
The front desk staff were fabulous, really friendly and helpful and kind. The location was good. The room size was good. The bathroom was fine, but for some mold. The area felt safe, and there were restaurants and shopping a few blocks away.

The Hotel is clean and well connected to the city centre, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Good value for money. The thing I liked most is that I could pay during my stay, differently from many other hotels which apply a prepayment policy.

IrelandNothing.
Smooth check-in, friendly reception staff. Single room was small but very clean and had good ensuite facilities. A very suitable room for a solo traveller like me. Although a small boutique hotel, it still had elevator access to the floors and breakfast facilities. Location is in a quiet area about a 45 minute walk from the City Centre or 11 mins by no.2 or no.43 Bus/Tram. I found this hotel to be excellent value for money for Vienna.

United KingdomThe pillow that was initially provided in the room was quite flat, although this was rectified by the additional firmer pillow they gave me when I requested an extra one. There is no air conditioning in the room, meaning you need to keep the window at least partially open to keep it cool. Generally this isn't an issue, but on some nights it was still a bit warm and/or the noise from the café across the street was a bit noisy and kept me awake. I found it a little odd that there is a desk but the nearest socket/outlet is on the opposite side of the room, which made charging my laptop a bit difficult. On the final night of our stay I heard a strange high pitched humming sound which, as far as I could tell, seemed to be coming from the wall? This was around 1.30/2am and I had to play my sleep app extra loudly in an attempt to drown out the noise. (With the early start that morning I was very tired and forgot to mention this when checking out)
The staff were friendly and were very accommodating when I asked for an extra pillow. Also when I asked for a bath towel on one of the nights (the cleaner had just forgotten to replace the previous one) they not only got me a towel but gave me a free drink to say sorry - this wasn't necessary but much appreciated, thank you! The room was a good size for a single with plenty of storage space for clothes, as well as a bedside table/cabinet and a desk with a chair. The window could be either partially or fully opened to allow fresh air in. Breakfast had a decent selection of food and drink options. The hotel was a short walk away from public transport stops, meaning it was easy to get to/from for our excursions and travelling to/from the airport. There are also some cafés etc nearby too meaning food isn't too far away. Overall a good budget option.

GermanyMight be a nice addition to have some background music playing in the dining room at breakfast, I found the atmosphere a bit strange sitting in silence early in the morning.
Nice and quiet location with easy access to tram services into the city centre (5mins walking). Room was simple but perfect for a single night layover. Good selection of sweet and savoury options at breakfast. Overall I would recommend for anyone wishing to travel on a budget.
