Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicWifi didn't work, the location is really scary at night, a little bit far away from centrum, you can hear everything what's happening in the other rooms.
Very nice and helpful personal. Clean and nice room. Showers were also okay.

AustriaThere's nothing i could complain about! Except that unfortunately the place was fully booked for the following night.. would have loved to stay longer!
Great place! Considering the fact that the facility is at one end of Vienna, but still rather quickly accessible using public transportation. About half an hour from city centre. *But for that one gets one of the cosiest, best Hostels that I had the pleasure of staying at. *Truly great place!! with all the necessary facilities.. well i don't know about laundry. But the kitchen is great! Lots of resources, like tee, coffee, sugar, plenty of milk, spices... Best kitchen in a hostel I've seen so far + a great, big and comfy sitting area next to said kitchen.

UkraineYou need to go there and back to a city with a train, it takes only 14 minutes and costs 2.40 euros one way. The train comes every 30 minutes, so consider this if you come fror sightseeing.
Great for relaxation! Just 2 minutes away from a station, but so full of nature. It is all brand new, made eith a vibe of peace in mind. A hostel with a shared mixed dormitory has a lot of space, literally breathing eith an air. Lots of large windows with a natural sunlight in the indoirs areas, nature views just cooled my mind, it is so qiet here... The mayuruals for an interior are mostly natural wood my bedfings were made out of nice natural linen fabric and I loved it. A mattress and pillows (it always matter for a rest while you sleep) were good quality, so I felt as they did not cut corners on how would guests feel. A kitchen fasilities were convienient. It is a big building. But a structure more alike as a resort or even SPA. From my bed i had a view on a forest and a river eith ducks. It has an access straight from a bedroom to a nature, which just one step away... fantastic... The facilities and stuff are still at the development, so i expect it to become more comfortable with more of electric plugs near bed, locked private spots for your valuable things and place to hang or put your dress, while you're showering. I expect it to be fixed in a nearest weeks, as today is just first month of operation of this spot. The staff was minimum, but with the attitude to make a stay just best, this how I felt.

PhilippinesYou literally get a bed and one chair and that's it. The lighting is very poor. My bed was creaking a lot. Honestly, it felt like a box. If you're just looking to sleep and go, then this is okay. But if you want to truly rest, maybe find another.
The price is very low for a single room.

PolandCons: When we checked in, they initially tried to put us in a small double room with a shared kitchen and bathroom, even though we had paid for a separate “One-Bedroom Apartment” with its own bathroom, balcony, terrace, garden view, river view, shower, kitchen, etc. After asking them to check, as this was obviously a mistake, we were moved to Apartment No. 21 — which did have one bedroom, but did not have the promised garden or river view. Instead, it faced a busy highway with very loud traffic, and the balcony overlooked an inner gap between parts of the hostel building — essentially just walls. So there was no view at all like the one shown in the photos. In addition, the apartment clearly had either suffered major water damage and had only a partial renovation, or was damp and not ready for guests. The light switches in the bathroom and toilet were missing plastic covers, the ventilation was blocked with cardboard, there were multiple leaks and stains in various places, and rough patch-ups of poor-quality repairs were visible everywhere. Sleeping with the windows closed due to the highway noise was very uncomfortable in the heat. The floor in the room had not been cleaned properly. We only saw the staff at check-in. The lighting in the room was very weak and dim, although there were table lamps. The kitchen did not have a stove, although everything you need to prepare food could be found at the hostel bistro, which is open until 10 PM — however, if a kitchen is advertised, it is strange not to have at least a single-burner stove. For such a large room, it would have been nice to have a broom and dustpan, since there were a lot of small stones and dust on the balcony that got carried into the rooms. Overall conclusion: Everything would have been fine if we had been provided with the room described, instead of being given a hastily patched-up unit after water damage, not fully ready for guests, and with completely different conditions.
We stayed at this hostel in the “One-Bedroom Apartment”. Pros: The area is very nice — quiet and clean, with a small river lined with deciduous trees nearby. There is a railway station just a 2-minute walk away. Despite being located on the outskirts, you can reach the center of Vienna in about 35 minutes, which is quick and convenient. The hostel itself is very peaceful, the corridors are tidy and quiet. The interior of the common areas is modern and matches the price-quality ratio. The bed in the room is comfortable, the room is very spacious, and the Wi-Fi signal is excellent.

SwitzerlandThe bed was stained with sweat and the pillow and duvet stank disgusting. You hear everything from outside the room. Without ear plugs I'd be awake the whole night. If you're on a tight budget, it might be OK. But don't expect to get a good rest sleep.
There where not many rooms occupied on my hallway. The overall look and feel was OK. The kitchen and bathroom/toilette was fairly clean.

PolandThe shared kitchen was absolutely nasty. It improved in the morning but I still wouldn't want to cook anything there. Also, it was rather poorly equipped. The room itself wasn't the cleanest, but it was alright.
A cheap place to stay for a night if you are only looking for somewhere to sleep. The shared bathrooms were fine and the area around was quiet.

Hong KongI'm a female who lived in a 4 bed dormitory. it's supposed to be a calm hostel, but they have metal wardrobes, so it makes it very noisy no matter how lightly people open and close the doors, i couldn't sleep well since there were roommates using the wardrobes. It also has very limited privacy in mixed dormitories, in many other places, you at least find some kind of separation panels or fabrics between beds. The common living area is also quite poorly decorated, it's not a comfortable space to stay in, and no one actually used it during my stay. The sofa was quite old and dirty, you just wouldn't want to sit on it. On the first day, there's not even handwash liquid in the bathroom. No one is in the reception to help even during day time, you can only call or text them. The shared kitchen had nice facilities but it's quite messed up as people were putting things all over the place. There were sufficient cooking pots, but i couldn't even find a spoon. I booked this place because i thought there would be a train connection to city centre, turns out the trains were not operating. I have to take a bus then the metro. it takes around an hour to travel. Overall, good reviews in the past were not valid anymore, especially concerning the location.
Bathroom was clean. Views were nice with trees and river.

GermanyAlthough they claim to have a parking lot, the space is so small that it can only accommodate two cars. However, as an alternative, you can park for free in the open space across the street, which was acceptable. The Wi-Fi is terrible. I urgently needed to find accommodation for business purposes, and it turned out that the Wi-Fi didn't work at all in the room. On the first day, I had no choice but to use my mobile data to get my work done. Even though I asked the staff for help, no one could assist me on the first day. The window was broken, couldn't tilt, and wouldn't close completely, making it very noisy. Additionally, the soundproofing between rooms was non-existent, so I could even hear the snoring of people in the neighboring room. Luckily, I had earplugs with me, so I was able to sleep. The bed was very small, uncomfortable, and of poor quality, and there wasn't even a small table in the room. I urgently needed to find a hotel for business purposes and this was the only place with parking, but I wouldn't want to visit this hotel again.
The facilities are clean.

NetherlandsI am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding the parking situation during my recent stay at your hostel. Your listing states that free parking is available, which was a key factor in our decision to book. However, upon arrival, we parked in front of the building and were informed that this was not a designated parking area and that no parking spaces were available. As a result, we had no choice but to move our car to a P+R facility, which was not only far from the hostel but also incurred additional costs. To our surprise and frustration, upon returning to the hostel, we noticed three cars parked in the same area where we were initially told parking was not allowed. This inconsistent and misleading information caused unnecessary inconvenience and left us feeling dissatisfied with our experience. I kindly request clarification on your parking policy and an explanation for this discrepancy. Furthermore, I would appreciate it if you could address this issue to prevent future misunderstandings for other guests.
