Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceNot a place to meet people, also there wasn’t much in the kitchen area. It was fine other than that
Clean, nice beds, slightly spooky and free laundry!! 10 mins away from subway. As two women we felt safe. Good for the price.

MoroccoThe location is not close to the city center. There’s no nearby metro station — only a bus stop, and you need to transfer to the metro to reach downtown. The rooms are very small, making it difficult to move around comfortably. Also, since the rooms are located on the ground floor, there's a lot of noise from cars and people walking and talking loudly outside, which can be quite disturbing.
Very easy self check-in with no staff needed. The place is well-equipped and extremely clean. There are plenty of bathrooms, and the rooms are spotless. There’s even a washing machine available for laundry, which is very convenient.

NepalSmall in size (approximately 4m*2.5m), but was enough for me.
Check in process was easy, just enter the code and get in. There was a kitchen in the ground level and microwave and electric kettle in each room. Clean toilet.

ItalyThe room was heavily smelling of cigarettes, the bed did not seem quite clean, and there was no soap in the bathroom.
For the price, the hostel is fine for a budget traveler, and I would recommend taking it, especially if the stay is for 2-3 days.

MexicoThere was a constant smell of cigarettes in the room, but I guess it was due to some other guests, which is bad considering smoking is not allowed and there are signals all over the hostel. Considering I stayed there for 9 days, I was expecting to at least change the bedsheets and the towels but it didn't happen. The bed was quite used so it was quite uncomfortable to sleep.
The main areas are clean, and the access to the hotel is perfect for people who arrive late night since there is no limit for the check in. There is a kettle and a microwave inside the room so you can make coffee and stuff :)

SlovakiaBut during check in I got a problem to open the door because in the information which was sent my email was no password code , just written push the bottom on the window but it was hard to find and no one answered on my msg which I sent before. So it was a stressful check in because at night I did not know what to do. So no real right instructions. Next time try to be more correct for the guests.
The location is good, the place is clean and not far from the Wien Hbf.

United KingdomThe self check in wasn't smooth at all. We can't open the first main gate and the staff wasn't available. The soundproof is really bad, you can hear other people walking in the hallway and open/close the door constantly The sink was really dirty on the first day

PolandIt is a hostel where you use codes to enter the building and the room (and then you get the key-card). Please remember to ALWAYS take the key-card AND your phone when you leave the room (even for the restroom) because once you're locked out of your room, you're screwed. It happened to me this time, and although I remembered the code to enter my room, it somehow didn't work (I may have accidentally pressed an inside lock before I closed the door, my phone and the card were inside the room). There was nobody in the hostel, and after an hour filled with stress, I asked a stranger in the building corridor to lend me his phone to call the hostel. It eventually got sorted out, and I managed to enter my room, but after that I took the card and the phone whenever I left the room.
It was my second time there, and I just booked a third stay. It's very convenient, the location is fine, the bed is super comfy.

United Arab EmiratesI dont like the day we arrive because we just came and we just took a sit in a vacant sit in the lobby to wait for our checkin time or the breakfast time, but the receptionist told us its not allowed to sit there for long. How rude, we were just taking a bit of rest as we came from a long travel. and we also paid the breakfast, so we were just waiting for the breakfast time so we can wait atleast in there. But later on , she did everything to let us checkin early . Also, because the doors were fixed few days back , so its difficult to lock and you really need to pull harder, and so we can hear other guests banging their door , or pulling harder, making a loud noise.
We really had a great rest in this hotel , it was just near to all the spots. Like literally you can just walk to the old town, a lot of restaurant choices. And our room was big so we were really comfortable in our 2 nights stay !

Czech RepublicI wish I knew that I have to check my booking.com mailbox before I've arrived because I was a little confused about the whole pin situation for a door. Once I figured it out everything was working well. Another thing that wasn't great was the floor was kinda cold, even though l've put the heater on a maximum temperature the floor was still cold but room temperature was acceptable. The last complain is gonna be about people that I could hear in the shared area like hallway and bathroom, the walls didn't eliminate the noise very well but that's kinda what I expected having shared spaces.
The room was nice and clean. The shower was great. The bed was comfortable. Overall not so bad vallue for money.

United StatesNo coffee Also, this is a Smart Hotel--which means you get the data necessary to enter the premises through email/WhatsApp. I never received the data, and thus had to email, WhatsApp and finally call the person who rents the place a number of times in order to receive the information necessary to enter the premises.
Room was fine, the place was a bit loud and further away from public transport than I thought.

SpainThe room was a little bit too small. Hardly no space for the suitcase. Towels small and thin. No mirror in the room or sharing area. Only in the main bathroom. So if someone was there you had to wait. In the kitchen area there was only a fridge and microwave, nothing else to cook with.
The room was alright for the prices in Vienna. It was nice and warm and easy to access. The owner was very easy to communicate with. Washing machine in the toilet to use.
