Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNot enough information on what it means to stay at Greenwood Lodge - kitchen small & had hardly any cutlery - we weren't adequately prepared. There are no shorter walks for those of us who are older & can't walk for hours - an hour walk or two would have been great.
The staff were tops!!! I could not exaggerate their friendliness & professionalism. "Explore the Cosmos" & "The Ridgetop Tour" were fantastic - especially the latter. Simple but adequate lunch menu - coffee was great. The country!!!

AustraliaThe isolation means they run out of things. This is particularly apparent in the restaurant.
Wonderful location with unique experiences available. Workshop staff extremely helpful in an environment where you are quite isolated and issues do occur, particularly with tyres on these harsh roads. Callana cabin was very comfortable. The Ridge Top tour is a must for anyone who visits Arkaroola.

AustraliaThe only improvement I can suggest would be a greater range of pots and pans and cutting knives in the shared kitchen.
Arkaroola resort is a very special place to stay. We stayed in Greenwood Lodge which is basic but excellent value for money. We made full use of the shared kitchen facility and common dining area. The activities offered by the resort, including astronomy, Ridge Top tour and scenic flights make Arkaroola accessible to everyone. They also have fuel. The staff were all amazing. I can't praise them highly enough, and the restaurant offers really excellent cuisine at very reasonable prices. I can't recommend Arkaroola Resort highly enough.

GermanyThe older building is very basic and is showing its age.
The location in the sanctuary is fantastic. It is mainly a geological site, but there is also the outback nature and finally the stars to observe. They have three observatories: one is run by the Neil deGrass Tyson of the outback and well worth participating in.

AustraliaThe whole place was very dated and the gardens were mainly dead. It was going through a drought so everything was very dusty. Sad to see such dry conditions. The prices were a bit too expensive.
The staff was fabulous and very friendly and helpful. The food was also excellent and our room was very clean and comfortable. We were so pleased to see that the sanctuary had water points around the property for the endangered wildlife.

AustraliaWe were there 3 nights and for 2 nights the food at the restaurant was top grade. However the Sunday night was roast night and the facility was full. We were given a later time to eat and the roast chicken was awful.
We upgraded from Budget Motel because the Budget motel too was so cramped the double bed was again started the wall and only suitable for backpackers. The much more expensive room was excellent.

AustraliaThe ridgetop tour took us through amazing scenery, but I was very uncomfortable squeezed between other passengers and was quite relieved when it was over.
Location is superb, Arkaroola is surrounded by stunning scenery. A continental breakfast served in the dining area was included and it was good.

AustraliaNothing….
We only spent one night there so would definitely spend more money for a better room next time we visit, and there will be a next time. We only paid $90 so got what we paid for. The linen was clean and the water hot so for one night that was fine. We didn’t eat breakfast there but the dinner was superb.

AustraliaWould have given a full 10 if there had been some cups and bowls and matches in the shared kitchen, a bit frustrating! And it is really hard to conserve the precious non-sustainable water supply when the only sink is almost as big as a bath - please fit a small sink maybe? We saw people wasting SO much water...... full bore for minutes on end..... distressing
A true sanctuary, but also a full educational or exploration experience! So many things to do; long and short walks, geology galore, 4WD tours abound. At night three options to see the night sky, in one of the darkest BEST spots in the Southern Hemisphere. All delivered by friendly and knowledgeable guides. Many accom options. Above average restaurant with really fresh and delicious food was a splendid surprise, but we could also cook in the shared kitchen. BEST was to see and experience rocks which are some of the oldest ever, in an amazing landscape. Wildlife and birds and flora are all must sees.
