We were very disappointed that breakfast was not provided ( due to staff shortage) even though it was included in the price. We should have asked for a discount.

We absolutely loved our stay at the charming Athelstane House. Even though the staff were on winter break we have never felt so warmly welcome and looked after. Our room was divine and we had a wonderful stay! 10 stars!

Very comfortable room in a lovely house with a great vibe and so close to the centre of Queenscliff! Balcony is quiet, trees are lovely and the garden is great. Welcomed with a bar of chocolate and a super friendly staff! Great communication on how to check in too.

The steps are narrow because it's a heritage listed building, if you have bad hips they might be a challenge. I have bad knees and could still manage, carefully.

The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, I was upgraded to a larger room. The verandah is large.

Beautiful accomodation, great bed, comfortable amenities, quiet and so many options of darkness, or light, fresh air or closed in like a tomb, great for sleeping. they thought of everything including the sensor light in the bathroom to help guide our way!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Athelstane House Queenscliff! Lovely spacious room… comfy bed…peace and quiet! Delicious breakfast and choices for breakfast, loved the choice of music and ambience! Close to Main Street for easy walks! Lounge area had plenty of magazines to read! And amenities if needed! Friendly staff! ( breakfast)

The shower over the bath could be challenging for some people.

We have been coming to Queenscliff for many years and this was our first time at Athelstane House, it will now be our No#1 pick for future stays. Athelstane House was a quiet oasis right in the middle of Queenscliff, delightfully furnished rooms that were spotlessly clean with a very very comfortable bed and lovely linen. Our room had access to the front balcony and it was a delight to look out onto the beautiful autumn trees. The breakfast included as part of our rate was exceptional, as was the coffee, and to top it off a 12pm checkout!! What more could you ask for?........maybe just another night or two!!

The bed was a bit too soft for my liking (and my sore back) . A firmer mattress would have been good .

The local is so quite yet so central, located on a leafy street. Rooms are very clean, quality finishes, very well appointed. Host is warm and hospitable. She goes out of the way to make our stay wonderful.
