Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The shower head kept falling down and even though they got someone in to look at it they were unable to fix it before we checked out. Excellent location if visiting Barangaroo and darling harbour. Easy to get to and easy parking. Very clean and comfortable, basic serviced apartment style but that’s all we wanted. Nice and quiet also. Staff were very nice.

AustraliaThe room was not in good repair. Tiles missing in the bathroom, towel rail badly repaired, gaps between flooring in the kitchen. Everything was functional but only just. Air con did waft cold air but not blow it, shower head runs water ok but rusted into position and not adjustable. The lift in the building is temperamental and twice took me to the basement instead of reception.
The location was perfect and my trip was easier because I could book a car spot on site. I felt safe as a solo traveller.

AustraliaI can’t think of anything in particular that we didn’t like except perhaps instructions on how to use the stove would have been helpful.
We loved the atmosphere and the attitude of the manager, Helen. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was exactly what we needed and were looking for as a retreat in the busy part of town. Everything was close by, trains at the doorstep, a great pub across the street with really good food and just a short walk to the water. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be using Napoleon on Kent every time we come down to Sydney.

AustraliaThe floor could have been cleaner in the corners. FYI - This is a serviced apartment. As I stayed for less than 7 nights, no service was provided. If one needed a top-up on toilet paper, shampoo, etc., just ask at the desk. Additional towels may incur an additional charge. FYI - This is a 'partner' booking.com accommodation with the owner of that apartment in the building. It is up for auction in February 2024. FYI - A 10% VAT Charge was made for this booking which is also included in the daily rate. In fairness to Booking.com, I will make an enquiry about the charge.
LOCATION Transport - Close to Train and Light Rail Sightseeing - Close to Circular Quay for ferries on the harbour, Sydney Opera House, and Harbour Bridge. Light rail will quickly take you to the Town Hall, Queen Victoria Building, Sydney Tower, Westfield shopping in the CBD. A few more stops will take you to Chinatown in walking distance of Darling Harbour. Food - Many choices to grab a bite to restaurants within a short walking distance ROOM For being under a major highway, this room on the fourth floor was quiet, up from street traffic and as requested away from lifts. If someone wanted to make and serve meals in the room, everything one would need for most every dish is on hand. During my stay, Sydney recorded the most humid day on record and the air con worked very well to help me cool down. I can't comment on the quality of the free wi-fi as I used only my Australian mobile service provider.
