- the reception isn’t always manned late at night so if arriving late just be sure to keep in touch with the hosts to ensure a smooth check-in

We didn't like that we were only there for one night!! We would have LOVED to stay longer.

We LOVED everything about this gem of an establishment. The proprietors are AMAZING, fun, personable, and colorful. We could not have scripted a more charming combo of passion project meets dream accommodation! This is NOT what we were expecting in an overnight in a port town, and I can say with complete confidence that we will be back to Davenport to stay at the Grand again for more than an overnight!

What a beautiful place to stay. Our room was quiet, large and very comfortable. A lovely selection of continental, plus cooked breakfast on the menu. Special extras like a complimentary sherry or port in the front loungeroom downstairs. Such an elegant home with friendly hosts.

Absolutely beautiful. The host was amazing and took us through the entire history of the property. We wanted old town Davenport along our road trip and it definitely did not disappoint. My husband and I would highly recommend The Grand on Macfie to all our family and friends. We will definitely return!!!

We really can't think of anything that could be improved upon.

Paul and Brendan were the perfect hosts, willing to do anything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice, and cooked to order. The accommodation was amazing as they have renovated what was once a grand old home that had been allowed to run down significantly prior to them purchasing it. They have since restored it to an exquisite level of quality with great attention to detail in the period furnishing and fittings. A 'must-stay' if visiting Devonport.

We LOVE staying at the Grand, Paul and Brendan are the most friendliest and wonderful hosts and their breakfasts are amazing. We start our journey in Tassy at the grand and we end out trip there as well..Beds are amazingly comfortable and the whole place has that old world charm.

it is always our first point of call when we get off the Spirit of Tasmania and our last call the night before we leave again..Paul and Brendan are the most wonderful and friendliest hosts and love to chat, which is amazing. The breakfasts are to die for, nothing is too much hassle for these 2. Highly recommend the beds and pillows and we sleep so well when we are here.
