i can only comment on our room which was chalet style. We are both tall and when stood upright we almost reach the ceiling...thats not a bother, however, we heard every small movement from the room above us. The rooms can get quite warm too... but not a deal breaker!!

Excellent breakfast, if you come away from breakfast dissatisfied that's a 'you' problem!! The location is stunning and the part of the hotel we stayed in was across the road from the lake where you could spend hours in peaceful tranquility looking at the mountains and lake!! A great base for touring. Parking could be an issue during busy periods, however we had no issues while we were there.

1. We were offered a different apartment than the one in the pictures. 2. The noise of cars on the road could be heard in one of the bedrooms and it was noisy. 3. There was a restaurant under the balcony and it was noisy at meal times. 4. There were lots of flies on the breakfast food.

The toilet hasn’t been cleaned, there was a pregnant urine smell, I lifted the toilet seat and it was all yellow.

The sound of the clock tower was quite annoying as it chimes through the night - ask for a room away from it. Breakfast was average at best. When asked, staff told me there were no buses to the Brienz main station (which was not true) and they did not mention the Brienz West station nearby. I took expensive taxis until I figured out the information was not correct.

The location by Lake Brienz was fantastic, lovely view from almost all rooms. Restaurant on-site which was convenient. A short walk to Brienz West train station.

The mattress of the bed was extremely uncomfortable. My back used to hurt every time i got up in the morning. The low ceiling above the bed is also kinda weird.

My wife and I always like to have a kettle in the room to make a cup of tea, unfortunately there was no kettle available.

Very clean and spacious hotel situated near to the lake. The room we occupied had a balcony with mountain view plus a window with partial view of the lake. Very good breakfast and receptionist kindly took us to the railway station on our departure.

The location was ideal, right by the water. Food was simple but good quality, despite the high tourist season. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was very clean and functional

Good location in front of the lake with excellent view. Quiet neighbourhood yet well connected. Good breakfast spread, lot of choice (eggs, ham, salami, cereal, cheese, and good coffee, helpful staff overall, especially the staff at reception. The room was warm and we asked for a fan which was promptly provided. Location was good, 10 mins from train and 15 min from bus or ferry terminals

Lovely family hotel near the lake. We had a very spacious room with seating area and a view towards the village of Brienz and mountains. We had dinner in the restaurant which was great with generous portions at standard Swiss prices (for us Kiwis very expensive). Good shower, very comfy beds. Breakfast was good with lots of choice.

The room was a bit too warm. The restaurant staff were mainly communicating in German but they were making the effort so we managed with half English - half French.

Great location just in front of the lake. Easy to walk through the promenade towards the center. Very friendly staff. Spacious & clean room.
