Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only downfall to this beautiful and relaxing resort, was the late night music blasting from the nearby town. We thought there was a club right behind the resort because the bass at the night was so loud and annoying, but the property manager informed us in was from the nearby town where the local residents like to party late on weekends (until 2 or 3 in the morning). However, this happened 3 of the 4 nights we were there. If you’re extremely sensitive to noise like my partner is, take some good quality ear plugs! Whilst this really bothered us, it wasn’t quite enough to detract from all the things we loved about the resort.
Firstly, the location is stunning. As you arrive via the boat, you are immediately greeted by staff with a glass of fresh juice, and get to take in the beautiful property. You truly feel removed from society and like you’re at the edge of the world. Overall, we had an amazing experience. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and go out of their way for you. The staff were definitely a large factor to why we had such a great time here! The rooms were very clean and well maintained, and so is the property. There was only about 20 rooms, so it never felt crowded by guests, and there was truly very little to do but unwind and relax. It was exactly the vacation we were looking for. Whilst we had an incredibly lovely time, there are some considerations that i didn’t really see in too many reviews. They didn’t bother us, but worth noting: - all meals are included. Breakfast is buffet from 7-9, and lunch (12-2) and dinner (7-9) are a la carte. The meals are not groundbreaking, but they are tasty and fresh. If you are vegetarian/vegan, there were limited to no options i could see. You get complimentary water, soda and juice with your meals. - alcohol needs to be purchased, which was fine for us. The bartender inside the pool bar made a great pina colada! Also, other drinks like extra water need to be purchased throughout your stay. - the hotel opens up to ‘day trippers’ from 10-3 every day. There is usually about 50 of them, they are not really allowed on most of the property and have a seperate place to eat. However, you do share the beach with them (though hotel guests get first pick of lounges). For the most part, they did not impact our stay much, and if we got overwhelmed by people , we just moved to the pool area. - not many of the staff spoke English, and we didn’t speak much Spanish. Even so, communication was almost never an issue. We smiled, nodded, pointed and ultimately communicated with one another.

LuxembourgWe had a great stay on the island, everything was perfect. Our room was really nice and clean. When we were there, the beach and pools were not overcrowded at all. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Two of us were vegetarians and the chef created us new delicious options everyday. The Spa services were high quality, good value for money, with a cute, tropical vibe. Overall we had an amazing experience.

CanadaDrinks and add-ons expensive, and some meals were mediocre. I expected more given the cost. Also, timing of excursions made it difficult to participate during a one night stay (ie. Only possible if staying two nights!) had to pay extra to fit in snorkelling. No snorkelling from island, needs a boat trip.
Beautiful location, outdoor setting and modern rooms. Constant up keep and lovely staff.

NetherlandsOn Friday night, there was a very loud party that made it impossible to sleep until it ended around 3 AM. Our room unfortunately had multiple issues during our 3-night stay. The air conditioning was barely working on the first day, but thankfully this was resolved quickly. Then later the toilet stopped flushing, and even after getting fixed, the issue has recurred. Finally, on our last day the shower stopped working, and that took most of the day to resolve. Note that the hotel is a resort hotel: it's not really possible to walk around, or explore anything other than by booking a boat tour. The hotel itself is a 1-hour boat trip from Cartagena.
Beautiful place, but the highlights are without question the beach and the swimming pool. Both of these are large, with a lot of comfortable sunbeds available. The swimming pool was very large, and has a bar in the middle with good cocktails. There is one restaurant on site. Out of the included meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), breakfast was the weakest, with rather few options. We were very happy with both lunch and dinner: there are a few options, but they were all very delicious, and a decent portion at that. Amazing fruit juices with each meal!

GermanyLet’s say that for tourists reaching Baru’ by car can be shocking, the city itself and the locals trying to stop the car for asking for money and the deep poverty of the village. Probably resorts that are located in the area should invest more money in the society around them and support more the village. This is more about the location, not the property.
Personnel was very welcoming, I asked to change a table because I wanted a better location for the honeymoon and they not only changed me the table, but prepared a dessert for us with “Felicitationes” this was a very nice surprise.

United StatesNo complaints about anything.
We had a fantastic time. All the staff was very pleasant and helpful and went out of their way to accommodate any request. We really enjoyed the boat ride from Cartagena to the hotel as well. On the way back we had to leave earlier than the scheduled boat ride, and the hotel arranged land transportation. It was a smooth trip back to the airport. There was an extra fee, but it was great to have that option. The snorkeling tour we booked through the hotel was excellent. Food was tasty and diverse. The property is at a peaceful location. Beach is peaceful and quiet with a lot of beds and umbrellas. Overall, it was a good value for the money.

CanadaThere is overall a sense of luxury though it’s not true luxury and the overall sense was that the value for money isn’t truly amazing. - The pool was extremely salty, would have been nice to get some unsalted water - We paid for ocean view and received pool view (bottom floor), nothing could be done. - The restaurant overall was okay though the level isn’t crazy high, don’t expect high end food and you will be fine
Overall we really enjoyed our stay there. Mostly due to the fact that it was low season and we had most of the hotel to ourselves! - The room was beautiful, spacious, very comfortable with a magnificent shower. A delight. - The pool was spacious and nice - The restaurant has an incredible view of the ocean that never gets old - Mostly, the staff was really helpful and welcoming

United StatesMy wife and I wanted to do one of the many Rosario Islands tours that are offered from Cartagena. They include set itineraries with stops at beaches, a picnic lunch, snorkeling, and tours of the island group. We could not find one that offered the option of drop-off at the Isla del Encanto. The resort offers direct boat service from Cartagena. We sent multiple messages well in advance of our stay, explaining what we were looking for, and we got back an impersonal canned response that described the direct transportation option and didn't answer our questions. We ended up buying a private boat for a high price with a captain that wasn't very knowledgeable about the islands. We arrived earlier than anticipated, at 11 am,, and my wife was having stomach issues. They said the room would be ready at 3 pm, but offered to show us the available upgrades. We checked out the standard room, bungalow, and junior suite and decided to upgrade to the bungalow. They again said ours would be ready at 3, but we could use the pool until then. My wife's stomach got worse, and a little after 2, we asked if the room was ready yet so she could use a private bathroom. They said yes, and proceeded to take us to the exact same bungalow they showed us 3 hours earlier, which was obviously ready when we got there. In my extensive experience, hotels let you check in early if the room is ready, and it was particularly aggravating that this happened with my wife's stomach bug, but also because I like to get out of the heat and sun during the middle hours of the day. I was a little surprised the front desk staff basically only speak Spanish. I can speak Spanish, but most of the other guests we encountered could not. I had to translate for several people, including a lady whose daughter was experiencing a medical issue.
We had a wonderful stay at this absolutely gorgeous, five-star Island Resort. Staff are warm, friendly, and personable. The food is delicious. The pools are pristine, clean, and well-designed. The room was quaint but also well-sized and comfortable. We did not partake in many of the offered trips and activities due to only being there one night, but we did do the sunset/plankton boat trip, and it was fantastic. It was beautiful and serene, with a fun trip through the mangrove-lined canal between the resort island and the island of Baru, followed by docking on a private serene beach for sunset, followed by a dip in a lagoon filled with bioluminescent plankton, returning to the resort in time for dinner.

PortugalThe food was overall good but desserts not so much. Maybe should consider also having fresh fruit as an option since it is excellent. Other activities and tours quite expensive. For snorkeling search for the snorkeling cabin which offers much cheaper options than the activities one
The hotel seems recent, everything in the rooms looked new and very clean. Occitane amenities 😊 Separate areas for guests and people on day tours made the whole stay much more enjoyable. SUP and kayaking at no added cost

United KingdomFood could be hit or miss if you ventured away from the seafood (rather don't, however we did get decent tempura California rolls one evening), wine was crazy expensive, an Argentine wine that is priced at £15 in a UK supermarket, cost me +£70, probably should have been closer to £45. Didn't like that there were still people trying to flog their tat at the private beach. Jetski rides passing by and trying to sell you rides really ruin the calm peaceful ambience with their diesel fumes.
Excellent resort, superb beach and location, felt really relaxed, mostly really good food.
