How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Good location just a short walk from the Altona train station. Although right next to the street, the apartment "Midde" was not too noisy to my taste. Also, the bedroom is on the quieter side of the building; I had no need for the earplugs Ulf had kindly provided. :-) Ulf was a super helpful host in other respects as well – he even arranged a ticket for me to an event I wanted to attend. That made my day!

There was a bit of noise in the morning from the street but unsurprising given the city location.
Very well equipped apartment in lovely neighbourhood, with plenty of shop and restaurants nearby. Only 5 minutes' walk to Altona station which has excellent transport links to the city centre. Owners very helpful.

The apartment is super cosy and comfortable. There's everything you need, very comfortable beds and the kitchen is fully equilled. The owner is very nice. The location is good, close to public transport, shops, etc.

I slept on the sofa bed in the lounge. It was comfortable but a bit noisy at times from the street. I still slept ok.
Excellent location near Altona metro. Facilities were very good and clean.

Toilet paper. There was only one (!) role of toilet paper for three people staying two nights. It’s suffice to say that the last morning of our stay was pretty interesting due to this, to say the least.
Great location, great amenities, bars restaurants and cafes (as well as the s-bahn!) were just around the corner. A lovely lady met us at the apartment and helped us with some info on where to eat, and she was really happy to help us with anything, which we appreciated very much! All in all the whole experience was lovely.

Nothing really; we received the seamless no stress experience one would hope for.
Great neighborhood location with many restaurant choices, a grocery and train or bus transportation close by. Apartment was immaculate with well stocked kitchen. Check in very easy and responsive with questions during our stay. I would definitely stay here again; great apartment and hosts!

Only negative I could find is a couple of spare pillows would of made things a bit more comfortable. We also couldn't find any clothes washing detergent but that was never stated as supplied, so what we bought we left for the next guests.
The apartment was quite comfy. We had 4 nights here and were very happy. The location is brilliant, as the Altona train station is a very short walk away, plus it is close to resturants and bars in the area. Nice little courtyard out the back. Kitchen is small, but adequate for our short stay. Apartment was very clean and Id definatly consider staying again.

The apartment was really clean, location is perfect (about four stops from the Hbf), the beds were comfortable and the feeling in the apartment was great - extremely comfy. I would 100% recommend this place. It's the perfect size for a couple as well. I would always stay in this apartment anytime I'm in Hamburg for sure.

Apartment on ground level at street side so needs more private curtains Sitting area is a bit small claustrophic- better to be open to eating area. TV is high up so not easy to watch from setee
Location very good - in Altona village. Shower was very good. There were extra blankets in case nights were chilly
