Lack of check-in post 8pm not what one expects from a hotel compounded by no answer to calls emails. Even airbnb provides that. I had to book another hotel as train was delayed by an accident and I would have had no bed. Some form of coded door lock should be possible and is at many places now. Very old fashioned approach and unrealistic these days.

Shower was a really small niche in the bathroom, with some traces of mold however one could see a lot of effort the owners put in keeping it clean and usable. Overall not a big issue, totally usable.

Comfy, spacious room + cheap yet good quality breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location for those travelling by public transport.

The rooms are a bit on the low end, but they where clean. No Aircondition.

We lived on the top floor, where sound isolation was terrible. We could hear the music and talks from the room next to us. I was awakened every morning by doors clapping. The bed and pillows are not very comfy.

Everything was fine.

Well located for the train station. Short walk into Lubeck. Room was quiet. The single room was quite small but more than adequate. Bed was comfortable and the shower facilities were fine. Breakfast was very good and reasonably priced. The stay as a whole was very good value.

The stairs! Can't be helped.

The girl on reception was friendly and checked us in early. Another staff member, a man, was also really friendly and recommended a nearby restaurant ( an old fire station ) which was very good. Very convenient for buses & trains

Hairdryer in bathroom didn't work and when asked about getting hairdryer from reception, was told to return in 3 hrs and ask other staff member! Very poor toiletries provided - 2 very small sachets of poor quality body wash/shampoo for 2 people for 3 nights.

Great location beside train station. Young lady on reception very friendly and welcoming. Bed comfortable.

Breakfast only starts at 8 o'clock. If you have an early departure you have to buy your breakfast elsewhere. But there are good options at the railway station.

Perfect location if you come by train. Close to the city; a 5-minute walk to the Holstentor, where you enter the old town.

it’s an old manor, so there is no elevator to the rooms upstairs. the WiFi doesn’t work on the top floor, rooms 5-6-7-8

I was in attic room, clean but visible wiring connection coming out of wall near sink, light above sink didn’t work. Dirty rectangular piece of carpet was the only rug. Velux window which I couldn’t fully open because of the risk of some very noisy pigeons that were on the roof might fly in One chair which was fine but unable to sit in it late at night to read due to poor overhead lighting and lack of other lighting. There was a lamp by the bed but I had to (carefully) remove the shade in order for it to be useful. Shared shower very small and claustrophobia inducing and towels were small, thin and quite worn. Bathroom and toilet were very basic and badly decorated. Doors to room rattled each time someone else on that floor opened or closed their door which occurred frequently due to shared facilities Staff not available to ask re above once I’d checked in. I asked for some ice, no fridge etc and unable to put plug in sink to cool drinks but was told by a lady I found near the kitchen that they don’t have any!

The shared bathrooms were tiny and not made for a man of 180cm+ - very claustrophobic. There was only one shower and one toilet that had to be shared. The were clean and I haven't seen them dirty. Carpets were a bit aged and I forgot my flipflops at home... Breakfast was ok - not as exciting as I was hoping for. Quite basic and no nice breakfast rolls - supermarket quality.

We were on the third floor. Not easy with an old dog, but maybe I should've mentioned this when I was booking. The pillows weren't great, and the bathroom door was maybe the squeakiest ever ;)

The room was clean and tidy, the staff helpful and friendly - both at check-in and at breakfast. The breakfast was also good value. Really close to the centre of town.
