How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The service was outstanding. Cozy, amazing food in a quiet location, but could walk 45 to Lake Titisee which was a pretty walk alongside the forest with pretty outlooks.

The hotel staff was superb. They were really helpful and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was very good, they even customised it as per our need. The hotel is very children friendly with a big playground outside. There are toys and books for small children in the restaurant as well so our kids were happy to finish their meal and wanted to go and play. Titisee is just 15 minutes drive from hotel. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

A very traditional feel for my first visit to Germany. The room was very comfortable, facilities clean and well kept. The sauna was a lovely addition. The lounge area was really comfortable with games and books. Although we travelled as a couple, I would not hesitate in bringing my children here. It's such a lovely, warm and welcoming place. The food was delicious, very traditional in nature and was a real treat for my German fella. I cannot fault this place. It was my birthday during the trip and they made it such a memorable one. Thank you so so much to all of the staff. I hope to be back again in the future for a longer stay to explore the area a little more.

Beautiful property. Staff was exceptionally warm and took care of us the whole time. Breakfast was wonderful, and so was dinner (take advantage of the pre-order option for more premium items like the Ribs). Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Nothing it was perfect for us.
We loved everything about this hotel. The location, the nice renovated room which had everything we needed (including "Alexa" that played our favorite music :-) , the breakfast was delicious ,and above all - Tom the owner and the rest of the staff that were extremely nice and attentive during our entire stay. We didn't want to leave. I highly recommend this place.

If you want to have a dinner at the hotel's restaurant, you have to order in advance. Somehow the beds seemed a bit hard to our liking.
Got a free bottle of water in the room. Breakfast was very good. The hotel is located in the middle of Black Forest, so a mountain scenery is just outside the window.

The breakfast variety was not good enough for us, but I guess it’s ok for European/German standards.

We loved the village of Saig. The hotel was traditional and very comfortable. Having the Konus card as well as the Hoch Schwarzwald card which gave us free travel on the bus and train meant we could walk further and when tired come home easily. Everyone made us so welcome and special throughout our stay. The food was beautifully presented and delicious.

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. Everything was perfect. We had a room on the ground floor. The location is fantastic and close to Titisee Lake ( 10 minutes by car). The rooms are spacious, well maintained, and clean, and the bathroom is large. Breakfast was excellent, diverse with good coffee. Free car parking. We will stay here again.

Great, great staff! Absolutely lovely all around, would definitely recommend. Area is very nice and quiet, lots of sporting activities available though and an area for children to play. Loved the little touches for our babies, thank you!
