How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The shower was small, and once finished, all belongings in the shower got wet, as there was no ventilation, due to the mist. Would have loved a few more pillows.
The room was clean and comfortable. Located in the town close to shops and food. Parking was handy.

It's nothing in particular, the hotel was fine, but we had previous experience with an Ibis hotel in Munich which was much "fancier", so we expected the same (or similar). But this Ibis hotel in Berlin was a "basic needs hotel", nothing fancy, but sufficient for spending the night.
Comfortable bed, extra blanket, room cleaning service.

The view from the window on a cemetery isn't something you'd expect to have. The room itself was clean, but dusty, as like nobody stayed there for a while. The ventilator in the bathroom is loud, it turns on with the light and there's no way to turn it off. The location isn't that bad, but sketchy when it's dark.
The price was decent and overall it was a good stay for one night.

On Saturday we were knocked on twice by the service who wanted to clean the room. So, unfortunately, she woke us up after a busy evening. I understand that we should have put a sign on the door, but it was still not nice of them.
Convenient parking, friendly staff at the desk, room adequate for price and need.

No aircon (but that was made clear in the description) No portable fan available, and room fan was not effective Even though other guests were not being overly loud, noise really travelled into the room and it was easy to be disturbed

Really nothing.
The staff is super friendly and very helpful for any problem you might have. Cleaning standards are high and you can see the care for the common spaces too. Beds and rooms are very comfortable and the area is very quiet - so you'll have very refreshing sleep times.

The breakfast at the weekend could have been earlier. 7:00 would have been great.
Breakfast was very good. It exceeded my expectations. Especially the fresh waffles I can recommend. The staff was very nice.

Was smelling cigarette when we entered the room even though it was a no smoking room. Luckily after ~5h open window ventilation it went away.

It was extremely hot at the room, there is no air condition and no fan. What is more, there was also no kettle to boil the water for tea.
It was really clean, the staff at the reception was exceptional.

No kettle… but the staff let us make tea for free (we had our own tea bags). We chose this location as it was between two clubs we were visiting, but even though it’s not directly near bars/restaurants as such, it doesn’t take long to travel on trains.
Lovely clean bright room, nice lighting and mirror. Good shower. Really nice staff.

Didn’t have breakfast, but from what I was able to see, I suppose you get better breakfast for half the money if you care to walk 200m
Quick Check-in, friendly staff, room & overall clean (with obvious traces of use). I chose Ibis because I didn’t like surprises and I didn’t get them (neither positive nor negative). It’s the standard Ibis.
