Service, as a paying guest it is usual to be able to use a hotels facilities at your convenience and not to be confronted by staff citing non published rules to suit their needs not the customers. As a matter of principle I elected not to use the dining facilities within this guest house

No on-site parking, but the front desk will give you a 3-day pass to park 2 minutes down the road by the river for 5 Euros.

The hotel had a great old-German style (yet the room was newly renovated and modern!) and the staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating despite our slight language barrier. The included breakfast was excellent!

Nothing to do with the hotel but if you are considering a December trip. Disappointing Christmas market and very quiet town on December 20th. Like a ghost town by 9. Long way to go for such a modest market. Lovely town though.

Nice bread and coffee. Liked the contrast between modernised and spotless rooms and the 17th century charm of the property. Liked the fact we could park nearby for 5 euros for three days

The matted glas sliding door in the bedroom is a bit awkward. Missing coffee making facility in the room. Parking is in the town central parking area - if you don't know that you might get lost in town trying to find the hotel parking. This should be mentioned on the hotel website.

Great location, right in the town-center. Very modern room, extremely clean. Both breakfast and dinner are of very decent quality.

Unable to park my car near the hotel and worse was the town was holding its annual wine festival so parking was limited. Though through the hotel the cost of parking was 5 Euros for 3 days.

The accommodation was very comfortable, and the staff were very helpful and nice. The hotel is right in the town centre. The restaurant of the hotel is absolutely first class.

Excellent newly refurbished room and bathroom with superb shower. Very comfortable bed, and one easy chair however most guests would prefer two chairs. Restaurant and breakfast we would highly recommend for visitors. Staff were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay.

Pillows were too high. Water was cold at 7:00am, and we had hot shower only at 8:00am.

Room was very comfortable and wifi was working great. The location is central, though quiet, near a great indian restaurant. we did not try the reastaurant at the hotel, though prices were resonable. Our room was in the 3rd floor, and there is a small elevator.

There's no air conditioning so it can get a little hot and it can be a bit noisy round the back with people coming and going (nothing that ear plugs can't handle but it was bin day).

Pretty much everything, it's become a regular for us and this isn't my first stay (or review). The location is fantastic for Bernkastel and the hotel is a wonderful blend of traditional in the main building and modern in the rooms. It's really a great place to stay, both the hotel and the town.

. While the reception and dining building is a C17th wine cellar full of old wooden beams and loads of character, the rooms are contemporary and spacious. A great mix. The hotel is located in a lane with only pedestrian access into the main square so it's very quiet but close to everything.
