Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI thought the hotel was a bit over priced, although I note that most hotels in Dresden are relatively expensive. Unfortunately the shower holder was broken in my room. I'm not sure why they haven't fixed it as it would only take a few minutes with a screwdriver. Maybe next time I stay I'll take a screwdriver with me and offer to fix it for a free nights accommodation !
Hotel Kipping is conveniently situated very close to the main train and bus stations. It is also only a short walk into the centre of the old town. Given its central location it is also surprisingly quiet. The buffet breakfast is great and one morning I was also asked if I would like a freshly cooked omelette. The steak tartare was particularly popular.

PolandLack of communication with the hotel. We had some questions before coming there, sent some inguiries that were left without any response. The staff didn't communicate in any other language than German (and maybe some Asians...). That could have been the reason for lack of communication with them. However, looks quite improfessional for me. In the times of Google translator - unacceptable. The staff just didn't care to take the effort to respond. The hotel itself is quite old, the furniture and bathrooms quite dated, too. For one night stay- could be...
Very good location, opposite thw railway station, walking distance to the old town. Car park available for the guests.

Excellent location in a few steps from the central train station The room is spacious and is fine for a short stay Easy and friendly check in

ItalyThe hotel looks kind of old and slightly neglected or at least basic: in the bathroom, for example, there was some hand soap and shower gel, but nothing more. The shower looked a bit old and when I tried to lower it, a tube got disconnected. So to fix it, I wasn't able to lower the shower. That's not a big deal, but not ideal either. I think that the main issue is that for this price you'd expect something more; I don't think it's a great value for money.
The location, really close to the main railway station, was very convenient and I appreciated finding a bottle of water and two chocolates in the room. All in all our stay was nice and we had almost everything that we needed. We arrived early in the morning (9.30 a.m.), but they let us already use our room.

CroatiaMy work desk did not have a chair.
The hotel is situated a few minutes walk south from the central railway station (Dresden Hbf). The street is tranquil. There is a reception desk open from 07:00 to 20:00. Out of those hours, you need to contact the person via phone. The room was quite big. There was a lovely en-suite bathroom with a shower. They offer different types of towels. The bed was big. I also have a sitting corner with a armchair in my room. There was also a work desk. Breakfast was served at the desired time. You can announce when you want to have breakfast. The breakfast is very rich. You have different meat, cheese, vegetables, and fruit options. Lots of different drinks: water, juice, milk, tea, yoghurt, ... They backed their own bagels!

United KingdomSome of the furnitures were old. The hallway and staircase looks creepy at night. When you go to the elevator as it opens you will see a very dark corridor. The lights in the corridor were only sensor lights. Some of the staff doesn't speak English and it's hard to communicate.
