You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I found this hotel heavily overpriced. We stayed in several van der Valk hotels but this is the first time I was not happy with my choice. Hotel is very nice, clean but breakfast with the price of 18 euro!!!? Really? This price is fior kids as well, who usually eat nothing at breakfast:) I think such price is really unprofessional. We were paying less than 18 euro per person for our dinner in the restaurants in the city centre. This was very disappointing. The hotel itself is outside of city, nice neighborhood but outside so price is way too high.

United KingdomOur room was supposed to have a balcony but it was just two chairs outside the patio door with no view. The room was tired and dated. We were kept awake at 0200 but people shouting in the corridor and when I asked them to keep quiet they just ignored me. In the morning the management claimed that they had dealt with the problem satisfactorily. The food in the restaurant was superb.

United KingdomService was a bit uneven, ranging from really helpful to downright unprofessional. After a long day driving, my husband fancied a beer over dinner and was dispappointed when he realised his choice of local beer turned out to be non-alcoholic. Two other beers were marked as non-alcoholic, but not this one. When asked, the waiter insisted there was no need to mark this particular beer as non-alcoholic, as everyone already knew that! After the - good, but rather expensive - meal, we were not presented with an itemised bill, so we don’t know if we were charged for this beer, or just the replacement. It’s a small thing, but this situation could have been handled so much better. Most staff seemed very dog-friendly, and there were quite a few dogs around - but 15 Euros as standard extra cleaning charge is a bit steep (havent paid more than 5 anywhere else), particularly when the hotel also wants 150 Euros as deposit, in case of any dog-damage to the room.
Despite very different body shapes, we both had the best night’s sleep, thanks to the incredibly comfortable beds. Room and bathroom were big and we loved the direct access to an outside area, so practical when you bring a dog. Some staff were super friendly and helpful.
