Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumTip: we were 3 people, an extra chair would be nice. :) Minor point: pillows om the bed could be ticker. Felt like sleeping directly on the matrass.
Every thing you need was there. It was clean. Good location close to the ring bahn: which gets you everywhere in the city.

GermanyThe bathroom was clean but very cold. The kitchen poorly equipped. So no big cooking possible. Was missing essentials like coffee filter, salt, or kitchen towels. The lock gets stuck occasionally, needs a little push to open the door.
It was cheap. That's pretty much what we liked about it. We had beds to sleep in and the heating worked nicely (except in the bathroom). The location was perfect for our purposes. Easy self check in. Some stores and food options around. Place was very quiet, perfect for sleeping. Kitchen for easy breakfast.

MexicoNo natural ventilation. Ground floor and facing street so you cannot open the curtains without flashing the neighborhood. No place to hang wet clothes.
Space is fine for 2 people. Bed is comfortable. Having a washing machine was great.

Latviaground floor thus rather noisy (cars, trash trucks, drunks, children, etc), plus on friday and satruday nights there were some kind of rave parties in the building, you need at least 0.7 l of wine / 0.3 l of hard liquor to fall asleep. the sink in the bathroom is so tiny that anything other than washing hands is a challenge, making the kitchen sink a better option. the table in the room is awkwardly located; a table lamp could have fixed the situation, had there been a bulb in it. a tiny tv set (i saw a newer, larger and better one near a garbage container on the way to u-bahn) is installed at a funny angle. bathroom could use a more thorough cleaning.
within minutes of walking to/from s-bahn, lots of eateries in the neigborhood, high ceiling in the room. access from the street makes it comfortable to have a smoke on the front porch with a cup of coffee.

United KingdomBooked the 2-bed apartment as we were travelling with children and wanted to be able to put them to bed in the evening then sit somewhere, but it literally just had 2 bedrooms, a tiny corridor with a kitchen in the corner, and a tiny bathroom. With both bedroom doors shut there was no room anywhere else for even a chair. And the courtyard outside wasn't nice at all, with the big bins right outside. It was also disgustingly dirty - we noticed it on our feet right away so I mopped the floor when we got there. But with a crawling baby it was horrible.
Location was great, we needed to be at the unuiversity campus and it was a 5-minute walk. We asked for a baby cot and they very kindly provided one.

United KingdomThe whole place was rather grimy and gloomy. There were stains around the place, especially on the floor and bashes in the doors. The chairs to sit on were incredibly uncomfortable and there was no table to eat at apart from a tiny round one in the bedroom. One of the electrical extension outlets didn't look safe. There was nowhere to hang the shower head to take a shower so you had to hold it over your head. The was only one coat hanger. The TVs didn't work (one turned on but had no channels). The mattresses were a little stained - some sort of mattress protectors between sheets and mattress is needed. The windows were hard to close when we got there and again, they were really grimy. Someone needs to clean under the bed. The furniture looks like it came from a thrift store as it looks old and mismatched . The chair in the big bedroom was stained. I was really disappointed considering how much we paid. The reviews when we booked were good (but only 2 reviews) but by the time the trip came around they had rapidly declined. The place could be so much better with a few adaptations as the location is good.
The beds were really comfortable and it was generally quiet throughout our stay - the people upstairs were noisy occasionally and the fan system could be rather loud at times, although I didn’t mind the white noise. The keys were easy to get and the location was very good - it was close to the station and easy to get to main sights on the S1 route. The fridge, microwave and kettle worked well and there was enough cutlery and tea towels etc. The shower had good water pressure.
