Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThey close the restaurant early, sometimes even before the stated time of 10.00p.m. For guests who would like. Night cap, that’s disappointing.
Great location and a venerable historic property

GermanyThe breakfast was a bit of a letdown, by no means bad but also not more than ok!
A super old house that’s been kept fresh but maintained a very medieval flair! Very nice staff and the location is fantastic

United KingdomThe host appeared to be quite harassed and it was a little difficult to find where we were staying (our room was in a different block to the main building) but we were guided to it by a helpful local!
The hotel is right in the centre of the village and our room was clean, quiet and spacious with a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom.

Turkeyhorrible sewage smell in the room when we notified the staff they seemed bothered to have to deal with it and did not apologize for the inconvenience of having to let guests sleep in the sewage smell unfriendly, unempathetic and unhappy staff except for the young lady that works in the restaurant at breakfast time who was very helpful and had a smile on her face otherwise the wrong people hired for a service job

DenmarkNo air on and a little bit noisy from the upstairs neighbor- but again the hotel is an old lady.
Nice placed hotel in the classic German city. Had a one night stopover to Italy and it did the trick. The hotel is very old and you can really feel the history of the hotel - in a good way. Had a very good Schnitzel at the restaurant garden and breakfast was ok. There are other dining options just outside the hotel if you are up to it. As a bonus the local Vinoteka were serving food and quite good local wine in the square just besides the hotel in the night. Very friendly and family-like staff.

DenmarkWe were placed in the annex - a newer building nearby. Nice and clean, but we would have preferred the main building (prices are the same). Request main building rooms when ordering

ThailandFor the price you can't go wrong. It's also in a lovely little village and you get the feeling you're in the Prancing Pony.
Breakfast was fine. Don't expect smoked salmon or other such luxuries, as it's a simple breakfast. However, the bread and deli was of very tasty.

Belgiumit was very warm when we stayed at the hotel. there is no fan or AC. because of all the noise sleeping with the window open is not an option. But the worst thing are the pillows. They are the cheapest kind without support. There are not alternatives in the closet. We had the worst night ever.
cosy hotel in the center of the city. breakfast was ok.

Denmarkthe staff was not friendly and especially not to the kids. I would never recommend couples with kids going there, only adults. The breakfast was bad with products sources from the local Lidl. the restaurant needs renovation and the staff (dinner time) needs a lesson in customer service.
location was nice. Nice cozy city with a nice atmosphere. Michelin restaurants in the city were nice! The rooms were nicely renovated!! Nice authentic experience, yet modern and comfortable.
