How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Location , the village is not alive. Breakfast was very basic. Eggs for example were completely over cooked.
Clean, friendly staff, next to two restaurants.

There is no elevator in case it's a challenge for you to take stairs or move heavy luggage.
Quick check in, nice breakfast, just in the very heart of the village.

We had many flies in the room. I'm not sure if it is a city thing or the hotel, but they didn't bite us at least.
Italian family-owned businesses! The host was very friendly. The room was good enough and nicely decorated. Free breakfast was offered in the morning from 8am but we had to leave early so we skipped it but restaurant area was nice and cozy.

We were misadvised about the over night car parking in a nearby public carpark for which there were NO SIGNS or markings depicting parking restrictions. We were annoyed to receive a €25 parking fine the following morning, for which an appeal was unsuccessful. Be warned!!
The Hotel was really beautiful & had a lot of character. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was superb. Kobern-Gondorf is a gem of a characterful village.

The closest parking was maybe 300 m away and the interior design of the room and hotel was a funny mix of modern and traditional that looked somewhat misplaced.
Good location in the center of the small town and a friendly staff.

Well , in this times of rising heat a better ventilation to cool the room would be top
Family run of Italian origins, they give a nice touch to all from the room decoration to the bkf. Very helpful in all aspects

Limited parking and no air con - fan given but 36degrees heat was a bit over bearing in the room.
This was a one night stay before returning home after 2 weeks in Germany. Good location, small village outside Koblenz on the Mosel - the village had a good selection of restaurants Room was comfortable, good facilities

This is a lovely hotel with rooms looking out onto the main square of the village. We were there for the Christmas Market which is a one-day-only event in the village (there were also Christmas Markets at Winningen, Koblenz and Cochem which are within easy reach). Our room was large and comfortable, and the hotel was very quiet as there were few people staying there. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very friendly and attentive. There is also a restaurant at the hotel, although we didn't eat there as we were out much of the time. We found plenty to occupy ourselves in the village and also visited other places nearby (we went by train and by bus). If you like local Christmas Markets then consider this one, I think we were the only tourists there and there were live music performances for much of the day, lots of lovely stalls and we were made to feel very welcome, it's usually the first Sunday of Advent but best to check online first. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the train station along the river, but there is a taxi firm at the station and another option is to take a bus from Koblenz or Cochem which will stop within a few metres of the hotel.

It was run by a male dominated staff, it had under gone renovations but very cheaply done, it was untidy and dark, it had potential for food/breakfast as there is a modern supermarket 100 m away, but they chose to deliver half baked bread rolls with a basic breakfast spread. This did not meet my expectations for a German hotel run by Asians
