Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe Sunday night buffet was a bit pricey for the quality of the food on it (Salad bar and desserts were tasty but the main dishes were not very appetising). Although the waiter was very friendly and kindly let the kids eat from the buffet free of charge which was nice. We chose this hotel as a mid stopover driving from Prague to Calais. It is in a lovely location but the roadworks (and closure when we stayed) on the nearby motorway meant it was not so convenient for a stopover as it took a while to get back onto the motorway because of local traffic.
I don't know if we just have low standards but I thought the other negative reviews were a bit unfair on this hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming on reception and in the restaurant. Our room was large, comfortable and definitely clean. The breakfast buffet had a nice selection of food and drink and was well stocked. Yes the hotel is a bit dated but I think the very reasonable price of the room (especially as it includes breakfast) reflects this.

GermanyThe internet was crappy! I couldn't use the internet most of the time. I wanted to call the reception from the room to ask a question and there was no way to reach the reception. By the bedside table, there was a QR code which wasn't functioning and one had to come all the way down from the 7th floor to the reception to ask a question. Also, every morning I leave the room to go down for breakfast, the key card stops functioning and I have to go down all mornings to the reception for them to reactivate it. That was exhausting! Also, there was mould in the bathroom and the walls on the balcony were peeling so badly.
The view was great. The breakfast was good although more variety would be appreciated. The view from the junior suite, on the 7th floor was awesome! The hotel is quite old and you can see they are trying so hard to maintain it. But they need to try harder because it looks dilapidated in some places 😊.

NetherlandsThe room was not clean (not exactly 'dirty' but just old, stained and wrinkly carpets, overall quite shabby). The windows were absolutely NOT clean, which was a shame as we had a wonderful view of the rolling countryside. We folded up the pull out couch/bed in order to use the living room of our suite, and saw just how bad the carpet, etc was...quite awful. The breakfast bar was large and the dining room was potentially lovely (again, very dirty windows, somewhat shabby chairs, grimy feeling carpet) but some of the hot food was not warm/appealing, and some of the selection was slow to be replenished. A shame, as the hotel could really be nice if someone would invest in a renovation.
The size of our room (suite) and the view were great. The staff were friendly and check in and out were easy. Plenty of parking.

United KingdomThe building is very old fashioned, not modern at all. There were quite a lot of mould in the bathroom and I wouldn't say it was the cleanest room I've ever stayed in. We payed for our stay during the check-in but when we wanted to check-out they said they can't see that we payed and we had to prove it with giving them our card and showing our bank statement which was quite annoying and we didn't like this customer service at all. At the end they found our payment in their system, but still it wasn't a good experience. Another thing, we've been woken up by the cleaners knocking on our door at 9am...the check-out was until 12noon, so why on earth the cleaners come before check-out? Very much annoying. I probably wouldn't stay here again.
They had a balcony which we could use and the bed was quite comfy, however it wasn't a french or double bed but 2 single beds put together. We got 2 packs of Haribo gummies as a gift which was nice and a bottle of sparkling water. The breakfast all together was quite lovely, but the coffee wasn't very nice.

BelgiumThe carpet is constantly dirty, even in the restaurant. The bathroom is oldish. the lift capacity is limited causing longer waiting times. The rooms and the hotel itself need a major refurbishment.
The breakfast is great, offers many choices. The view from the hotel is gorgeous, the staff is helpful. The price/value ratio is good.

GermanyThe hotel is really outdated and needs serious renovation. Everything reminded me of an old 70s hotel in a communist country- very old furniture, stained carpets, uncomfortable beds, holes in the walls where previously I assume hung art, holes on the walls of the balcony, outdated bathroom fixtures. The hotel is far from downtown Koblenz and you need to either drive or take a bus. Taxi service is non-existent. Overall, really poor quality for the price we paid.
Staff was polite and room was spacious. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel and the bus takes you directly to Old Town Koblenz. The breakfast buffet was pretty good.

NetherlandsRoom could have been larger and it did have a balcony (in need of renovation). Very disappointed that it has Satellite TV but no English channels or radio (don't forget your smart speaker), very annoying considering that while we were there every second person was speaking English and for that reason, we will try somewhere else. Very nice bar but no music and the sitting out area was very crowded and noisy we had to wait 30 minutes to get a seat outside which wouldn't have been a problem if it hadn't been over 30 degrees +.
Room had a nicely laid out shower room with a shaving mirror and also had a balcony (in need of renovation) but a great view of the Rhein hills down to Koblenz about 12 Km away (12-15 Minutes). Breakfast was a buffet, scrabbled eggs were great but no Bacon or Sausages it does have a great mini pancake maker with loads of toppings and freshly made bread rolls. There was also a nice garden to sit out, weather permitting.

Situated in a pleasant wooded landscape outside of town, the hotel is a pleasant and quiet place. The beer garden offers good variety of beers and a nice array of German food. The buffet breakfast is among the best anywhere.
