How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

24 h emergency service not available, no sign of staff during the day or at night,no security. Deposit of 170 euros required.

No one at reception to ask information etc No cleaners in apartment for time we were there. Did receive clean towels half way through our 11night stay. But on received request for clean sheets on third day before we were coming home - no organisation in the place
Very disappointed. Never any one on reception. When arrived no one there to great us. Eventually after waiting around the lovely la day from the cafe/bar booked us in. Also contact number quoted on door does not work so incorrect information

Hotel a bit dated. Needs a bit of decoration round the pool. The mural needs to be redone. It has faded and makes it look unloved
Staff very good. Very helpful. Had a few hiccups but they were soon sorted out. Location was good 5 minute walk to the beach. Loads of lovely places to eat and drink

Extra charges for tv remote, air con, fans and wi-fi. Never had this before in any apartment we've stayed in. Only one English TV channel (4) and an American news channel after paying 30 euros for the tv! Managed without air con or fan, but these should not be "extras" when similar priced apartments provide these facilities within the price.
Nice apartment on the top floor with balcony sunny all day long. Comfortable beds and lounge, nice bathroom, everything very clean. Slight issue with the kettle on the first day was resolved wthin 5 minutes of reporting it!

Nothing but it is up a small hill if you are visiting with elderly people and the surrounding hotels can be a bit noisy in the evening.
The size, location the host responded very quickly to any emails and was very accommodating. Our flight was late in the evening and we asked for a late check out and for a very low price we got the apartment for another day, Naria the host was great.

The locks for hotel rooms were either stiff or difficult to lock and unlock.
We never had breakfast but we never got told about how to order or times served. Load of choice in the area.

Little bit of an incline if your not in good health but this was no trouble to us.

The hill… it’s not that bad really, could do with a paint job outside, beds not the comfiest, other than that spot on
Location was great, right by the beach and 5 mins from the square, great pubs all around. Hotel was relaxed and felt at home by the pool, the bar was cheap too

Would have liked more on offer on the menu. Would have been great if the bar was open later. I do understand though that staffing is a big problem just now in the town.
Staff were brilliant. Rooms were super clean. Mattresses on beds comfortable. Cheap safe for room. Not solely uk residents. No rowdy groups.

Only downfall was the walk in shower water went all over the bathroom and through the bathroom door so was abit dangerous but they have rooms with a bath and a shower so not a problem really will request one next time.
Staff were absolutely wonderful and so helpful nothing was ever to much trouble.The balconies on the apartments were huge great for relaxing on.Bar Nd pool area was so cozy it felt like home from home would definitely stay again.

reception /on booking it said 24hour reception this is untrue you have to phone her when you arrive we were lucky she answered straight away but other people were waiting hours to get into the rooms as she did not always answer phone we read the reviews and they weren't all good but we took a chance as price was right for us but new management has taken over and there not very helpful neither are the staff if you can find one bar not always open and shuts early
