Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandCocktails a bit on the pricy side.
View, location, view, view!!! Rustic accomodation, perfect restaurant/ bar overlooking swimming pool and beach. Good value for money accomodation and meals. Authentic Fijian experience, not too busy. Friendly staff and owner. Still plenty of corals and tropical fishes. Would love to return one day!

AustraliaThe rooms are back-packer-esque. We had the double bure and the bedrooms and bathrooms were fine but the middle room was tiny, and took me back to poor student days with hard-rubbish furniture. Also the snorkeling is false advertising as the tide is out most of the day. The "activities" are just a few kayaks and snorkels for hire.
Beautiful grounds and relaxed family atmosphere

AustraliaThe bures appeared tired and need a spruce up for price. The food was reasonable for the meal plan, however at times there was a wait. The last day felt like a kids club, with a large amount of families with little ones.
The view and hospitality was amazing.

AustraliaThey could put the fire on every night as that adds wonders to guests experience.
Incredible location. Tranquil environment. Picturesque sunset. Palm trees, huts, flowers, greenary, pool, beach, snorkelling, cafe, food, drinks...Ed and Team run the place like family and it is evident in everyone coming together to provide the experience to guests, from back of house staff to front of house. The waterfall day out experience was magnificent.

New ZealandSome attention to details missing when it came to cleanliness and presentation. The pool was grotty, needed the sides to be scrubbed and the scum scooped out. The tiki torches were off most nights. The cocktails didn't look like anything special but tasted fine.
Location was excellent, beautiful garden setting right by the sea. Very relaxed atmosphere, small enough to recognize other guests big enough to not be on top of each other. Staff were super lovely and helpful. My Bure was like my own personal sanctuary which was exactly what I was after. I would go back again to the beachfront or seaview bures but would not stay in the garden bures.

AustraliaIt would have been nice to have seen more local produce for the continental breakfast (perhaps locally made jams or chutneys?) and more activities provided such as a cooking class and maybe some traditional cultural dance one night.
We really loved our stay at Mango Bay Resort. The location is beautiful and it's really quiet., away from the main road which is great. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet other travellers and chat around the restaurant and pool area, everyone is so friendly. It's so relaxing by the water, under your fave palm tree and soaking up the sun, or head out snorkelling or kayaking. The staff were super lovely and helpful, and Ed, the owner, was also super helpful with anything you needed. It was really easy to book tours and they gave great advice on what to do and where to go. We really enjoyed the local food options and chef prepared us a romantic seafood dinner for 2, with the best chilli garlic crab I've had in years. If you're after a very simple and relaxed holiday, Mango Bay Resort is the place to go. We are definitely looking forward to visiting again.

New ZealandThe 1km road to the property is gravel and not in the best shape. Some issues with my room in terms of plumbing - toilet and hot water. And an ant problem in my room. No tv (possibly no reception anyway). None of these were huge issues, but still detractors. I spent most of my days in the communal areas though, so these were only an issue at night. Pool table needs chalk and for the table legs to be adjusted.
The communal areas were nice and a good place for people to relax and meet new people. Free continental breakfast. Free items to use such as a volleyball, kayaks, SUPs, and snorkels. Food menu was reasonably priced and a decent size/quality.

New ZealandPillows were thin with little support but no worse than other places. Place needs a bit of maintenance but you see the maintenance staff working hard. This certainly did not deter us from loving our time there!
What’s not to love! The staff are amazing so nice and accommodating! The location is right on the beach, when we were there you couldn’t snorkel 🤿 directly off the beach as it was low tide from midday. The food is delicious with a varied menu is on a five day cycle. Great selection of drinks available at the bar. Rooms are basic could do with some more shelves around it. Has a clothes line to dry your clothes live this. Ed checks in with you to see how you are enjoying your stay and if you need any assistance with activities or tours. We loved it we left feeling so relaxed and would definitely go back. They have a few hammocks around and a lovely big day bed with ocean views.

New ZealandLike many 2-3 star resorts in the Pacific, the word "resort" can be misleading for many people. Expectations come high when you use the word resort. You should think closer to high end backpackers or motel. If you set your expectations high you will likely be disappointed. In the islands, water quality in your room can be an issue. Power cuts do happen. They don't always have a commercial diesel generator for back up power. Wifi may be patchy or restricted to the reception area only. So get your own local SIM card. Things are always getting patched up or maintained, which is normal. Access roads into "resorts" will often be bumpy and gravel. The bures often don't come with aircon and are very simple in their furnishings. Room toilets are often right next to the shower with little separating them. Meals and water will always be double or more than buying outside the resort. So, don't expect a 2-star resort in Fiji to be like a 2-star hotel in the modern Western world. And you'll be sweet.
Nice beach and great restaurant food. Ed and Jen the owners were very approachable and helpful in answering any questions. Pool was nice. Free activities equipment was great.
