How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

A bar area for a drink before or after dinner would be a welcome addition, especially on evenings when it is too cool to sit outside late.
Setting/location was stunning. So quiet and peaceful. Pleasant pool area with loungers. Outside dining area was lovely, staff were friendly and efficient and food in the evenings was excellent.

Some of the furnishings in the bedroom were tired.
A typical French country house style of property. A certain charm, but with some of the furniture being tired. Comfortable bed and we had a small patio. Terrific restaurant!

No tea/coffee or mini fridge. It was very hot while we were there, so access to cold water, maybe even a vending machine with cold drinks and snacks in reception would have be good.
Lovely surroundings, the pool area was good. The staff were very helpful, they sorted us a taxi to go I to Sarlat although we couldn't get one back so had to walk , which was a good 40 minutes uphill. The meal in the restaurant was very good.

The room was not a comfortable and inviting room, the condensation on the windows and doors was very bad, puddles of water on the floor
The restaurant staff were very helpful, the food was excellent.

There wasn't really a proper bar or seating area, meaning on a wet day you were stuck un the room - when staff arrived they did make an effort to seat you in the restaurant waiting area.
The room was ok and functional, perhaps lacking in character, the restaurant food was very nice but was only open in the evening.

The hotel needs a bar or something! When staying in a location which is farther from everything else it would be good to have a place to get a drink before dinner - the staff seemed utterly confused by our request for a drink and there is no real place to sit and do so.
Staff were friendly, everything was clean and comfortable and the airco worked well. Breakfast was good and there was plenty of free parking on site. The restaurant was nice and was open on a Sunday which is good because many restaurants are closed in France on Sundays.

The breakfast needs to be shaken up a little. It was staid.
Room was modern & comfortable. It was really clean. Staff on reception were very good but Julie made the trip for us. The pool could have been a little warmer but it was in good shape. The restaurant was excellent. Investigate the half board it offers good value for money.

Well, all was at a very high standard; the restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. The pool was not big but very well maintained and clean. The staff was indeed very helpful and forth coming. A super stay.

We liked everything but the only suggestion we could make is more TLC of the landscaping around the the swimming pool area.
Beautiful Hotel and we stayed in a Contemporary Room in the new part of the building. Very modern and large ensuite bathroom. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the ambience and setting of the terrace restaurant for dinner in the evenings, the food was exceptional.

Particularly liked having an evening drink in the courtyard. Surrounding gardens also pleasant. Swimming pool available but not heated 🥶

It was not the easiest hotel to find and perhaps better signage needed. The hotel was adequate but we didn't have breakfast. We also didn't use the restaurant as dogs not welcome there.
The room was good. We did change rooms when we got there because the one they gave us was on the top floor with two very small windows that didn't open. They obliged readily.

You cannot really walk anywhere from the hotel. The restaurant menu is not vegetation friendly at all.

The surroundings and style of hotel were super ! The main courses we chose at the restaurant were disappointing, should have gone for the duck confit may be… the receptionist who welcomed us on arrival was very professional, very pleasant and helpful.
