Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe arrived at Vernon at early evening and there was no transport available , which was quite disconcerting . I tried to ring the hotel but there was no answer . The owner of the bar opposite the station was very helpful but he was unable to get any help for us . Eventually a very kind person gave us a lift to the hotel
The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant especially the young woman on reception on Tuesday morning . We had a problem with our first room and it was dealt with perfectly .

United KingdomThe attitude of two members of staff - particularly the woman maitre d’ who was rude, dismissive, and arrogant. Also - the food was unfortunately not quite as good as it pretended. We all of us did not enjoy the desserts and sent them back but were still charged for them..! They also decided to charge 70c for a slice of lemon in my tonic..! And when we queried it we were - rudely and with attitude by the same maitre d’ - told that it was because we had asked for it.!! In all fairness part of the reason we couldn’t eat them was because we were plagued with wasps for the entirety of our dinner - we had two or three at a time on our desert plates. We had been moved from our original more central table - with a very peremptory “votre place est là” pointing at - as it turned out the table by the trees and bushes. The table we had originally preferred remained empty for the duration of our dinner. In the end myself and my daughter became pretty distressed because 90 minutes of wasps is sort of as much as you can stand. The waiter was sweet but his superiors dismissive. When I complained about the rudeness the next morning no apology was forthcoming - in fact they decided it was all our fault for becoming distressed which they described as rude..! The chef then appeared and they ganged up on me in reception and told me to leave. As I used to train people on two continents in Customer Service you can imagine my surprise..!! 😂 Oh dear. All in all very disappointing. 😒
location is great and building is pretty

United KingdomThe room at the top of hotel had no windows just skylights. During the recent heatwave the heat was unbearable. One ineffective fan provided. On our last evening we could not use the patio or garden as these were reserved for an event. We had nowhere to go although we were guests.
Location was good. Breakfast was adequate.

IrelandAs we had zero complaints, the only thing that could have been better would have been to stay another night.
My husband and I were warmly welcomed to La Musardiere by Michael and that was the start of a most enjoyable stay. We were there to visit Monet's house and garden and they were only a few minutes walk from the hotel. All of the staff we met were courteous, friendly and engaging. There were multiple nationalities employed which made for some interesting conversations. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in, so much so that we asked for the name of the manufacturer. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.

United StatesThe gravel parking lot was not the best for dragging wheelie bags and the competition for a parking space with the lunch crowd put us in a spot a distance from the front door which was up a very steep step but there is a back way in that avoids the steep entrance.
You can't beat the location. It's only a five minute walk to the entrance to Monet's Gardens. Book your visit to begin at 9:30 (opening time) and walk there after breakfast in the morning. You'll have the gardens almost to yourself for about 20-30 minutes and that's worth it just there. Dinner the night before in the restaurant was also excellent and a stroll down the lane towards the gardens was an enjoyable way to end the evening. It was very quiet and peaceful.

United StatesBreakfast was inflexible - they prepare the plate of cheese and meat the night before and would not accommodate our request for more cheese. We expected a great dinner but were disappointed with all courses.
The location is great and the property is beautiful and relaxing. Also good parking in a locked lot.

This room was a hazard. Step up on a step stool to get in the bathroom then literally fall out of the bathroom trying to use the sink. Made reservations at the restaurant and both times acted like they were FULL. Nobody was even there. Food was very expensive and not good.
