Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe check out is complicated. You have to do everything yourself /empty bins, tidy the kitchen, take off the sheets/ even though I paid extra for the actual cleaning. The sheets, pillows and blankets were not very good quality even though everything was clean. There is nothing in the kitchen in terms of basic foods - no sugar, salt, oil or tea. It took us by surprise but we found the way.
We were there towards the end of the season, so the hotel was very quiet. We loved that even though it meant that the restaurant was no longer open. The swimming pool and the jacuzzi were available. The flat where we stayed in was very nice. Our child loved the freedom of being able to roam on his own, playing with the owner's dogs and the two lovely goats.

CroatiaStaff was kind and professional but could speak little more english, but we knew that before we came to France :) Sometimes little crowded parking next to apartments but nearby there's a huge ski parking lot.
View is really nice, location and the setup of the place was good. Huge balcony. Everyone warned me about french ski resorts having a bad accommodation but this one surpassed our expectations.

United KingdomThe apartment we got was not the one we had booked and paid for. We booked a large apartment (with Mountain View) with 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and 3 toilets, for 9 people, made up of two families. No-one was going to have to sleep in the living room - everyone would have had a bedroom. The day before we flew out, on 8 February 24, the Sunelia Logis d'Orres phoned me in the late afternoon, and told me they had double booked and we could not have this apartment that we had booked 10 months in advance (booked in April 23). They said they had another one for us, but it was smaller, with 2 people having to sleep in the living room, and 2 shower rooms and only 1 toilet, for 9 people. I said this was not good enough. We had paid more to get the bigger apartment. They said that they were the same price. (Which they were not, at the time of booking.) I said it was not like for like and she offered free sheets and towels. After I looked at the apartment plan online, I contacted them again and said it was too small - all of our children are nearly adults and certainly adult sized. I said that one toilet was not enough for two families - that it would be too stressful and not a relaxing holiday. I asked for another apartment as well so at least no-one would have to sleep in the living room. She then offered a smaller 3 person apartment, where 3 of us slept at night. But the problem is this - when I first took the call from her, she said it was a Booking.com problem. She said if I had booked directly with Sunelia Logis d'Orres, then this would never have happened. I do not understand why she said this. Whose fault was it? Is it a mistake caused by Booking.com? Is is double booking by Sunelia? What caused the problem? Even though we had 2 apartments, the holiday was not the same. It was not the fun, all-together atmosphere that we wanted, and carefully selected this apartment for.
The apartments were close to the chairlift.

NetherlandsProperty facilities are poor. The pool and the surroundings are not maintained, and the game area is sad, ping pong table without rackets and non functioning games.
Welcoming and kind staff. Chalet is fine and well equipped. The living room and the kitchen are comfortable for 4 people.

United KingdomOverpriced, the climate you expecting to get from looking at the pictures don’t really exist. Internet access so poor that you can consider it as no existing. Accommodation sold on a premium accommodation basis but when you there you quickly find out that this is build and made on low budget. Poorly build buildings with some trims and both coming off them. We’ve paid £1500 for week stay in apartment with private hot tap but it rather felt like a mid range apartment fact really need refurbishing and the garden area where the hit tap was wasn’t very pleasant. Not to say that it wasn’t private. People from accommodation next to us could literally walk in to our garden and literally stare at you when you in hot tap.It was also visible without any fencing from road above. You can forget about privacy in you private hot tap. We could easily pay £500 less and use the public one available next to reception. Looking at the pictures of this apartments they look like lovely place where you have a wine in hot tap in the sun and heaving a lovely breakfast and coffee in you sunny garden but reality is no where near to this photoshopped pictures. This climate doesn’t exist there at all. Not to say that we’ve never has a sunshine in our garden despite it was clear sky every day. We really felt like we’ve been scammed and wanted to ask for refund. Waisted money! From the pictures of the stay it looks like there is a restaurant where you can have breakfast or dinner. Yes is there, but again not the climate as from the pictures. This entire place is not the climate from the pictures. I’ve not seen anybody at single time using this little restaurant made of 4 tables surrounded by some sofas. Places like this doesn’t even make me feel like I want to eat something there thinking why no one else is using it. Access to the lift is also difficult as involves climbing through some series of steep stairs since this place is build on steep hill.
Specious and modern

United KingdomThe biggest problem is that employees don’t speak english and can’t explain everything. The apartment is not worth that money. Photos are different from those shown. Everything is old inside and repairs are already needed, the doors of the lockers are broken, the shower does not close, the warm water runs out and we cannot wash all four people. When you register for the sauna, we will contact the whole family and when they say there is no order. the sauna can accommodate 2 people but registers as much as they want, although not everyone can fit. Jacuzzi didn’t work. Everywhere is a dogs poo, even in kids play ground.
Location was good and swimming pool.

FranceLots of stairs which is hard for single parents and small children. We came for a ski holiday and the location of the ski lockers were up/down more stairs so kept equipment in the car. No extractor fans for cooking. There were some very smelly drains/sewage but am guessing that was due to the property being completely full.
Nic location, ski in and out at the Champ Lacas lift. Friendly staff , responsive and well organised. Lots of parking. Check in and out smooth and quick.
