How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A bit small the rooms , also you could here the cars or pepole outside. I also have to say that , I am very sensitive to noise .

There was nothing I didn’t like.
The property was comfortable and warm which was a real bonus given the rain outside. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts who provided me with delicious gluten free breakfasts.

Nothing negative to say at all.
Super friendly hosts, very welcoming. Breakfast was amazing - the full English was great, also a ham/cheese/tomato combination was just perfect. Lots of other options too. The room was warm and comfy, good shower, good towels provided too. Hosts could not have been more helpful. Loved it :)

Having to climb 3 flights of stairs but all sorted if we go again.
It was close to the village my bed was very comfortable and breakfast was good, and made very welcome.

We were stuck in a snowstorm and had to abandon our car. We booked into one of the last rooms at Adams place. We were welcomed by the most lovely hosts, Chris, Linda, and Glen. They made us feel very comfortable and couldn't do more for us. We had only the clothes on our backs with us, I had no phone charger, so Linda kindly plugged it into her laptop for me at every opportunity. We headed into the town for dinner, Linda had put on a large pot of stew and told us if we couldn't get anything out to let her know as she had made plenty to go around. Thank-you so much Linda, Chris and Glen for your hospitality.

Linda is the most welcoming and friendly host. I was travelling by myself and felt very comfortable and safe at Adam Place. The room was very clean and cosy. The location is a short walk to the train station and bus stops too, which makes it very handy for anyone travelling without their own vehicle like me. Breakfast was also amazing!!

Linda and chris are very friendly home form home room s very small but only in room too sleep beds are very comfortable and clean about 20 mins walk to town centre (windermere)

There was nothing I didn't like, but to answer your question, it would have been nice to have a little fridge in your room-just an additional bonus when tired after a day's travelling to come back to your room and be able to snack on your stock of earlier purchases from the abundant food chains around.
The breakfast was excellent-anything you wanted Linda complied with. Home cooking was really nice when you are so far from home. Linda made you feel you were at home. She sent me off on my Beatrix Potter Tour with a flask of coffee, which was so appreciated and enjoyed during a stop on the Tour. The position of Adam's Place was excellent-a short, enjoyable walk from the train station, even pulling luggage! Pats with Colin (gorgeous labrador) were a lovely bonus too.
