Dated and way below most peoples expectations!

Parking - We arrived late in the day, no spaces available had to park on the road. Hotel - Is dated and clearly not been decorated or modernized since it was built. Facilities - Book early, very early if you want any food e.g. the day you book!

ROOM - Was dated, great if you like the 70's look, unable to use the TV as no Ariel! BED - was comfortable, but below expectation. BREAKFAST - Unable to book breakfast as it was full booked, reception suggested we came down at 06.30 and see if they can fit us in, not able to have dinner either as restaurant again was full booked that evening!

Breakfast is very expensive for what you get, you pay extra for swimming and the pool was very cold. The room was ok, but not super clean - especially the bathroom. Disappointed in the state of the place for the cost!

Check in staff couldn’t be more rude if they tried, particularly one receptionist called Debbie. Kept cutting guests off and raising her hand to them to be quiet while she was checking people in, one being my own father. Face like thunder and immediately didn’t feel welcomed. Seems like absolutely non of the staff actually want to be there and you’re ruining their day by being there. Wouldn’t stay at this property again because of this. Someone should remind them they work in hospitality, because this particular woman has forgotten. Bar doesn’t open til 4pm in the afternoon and you have no access to amenities. Also, check in doesn’t open til 4 meaning you have to wait around and when check in comes around, long queues start.

The hotel itself isn’t awful, what you pay for is what you get. Rooms fine for a 1 night stay, just a tad drab

The property is very tired looking and elements such as the disabled parking bays are absolutely useless for wheelchair users as they are just standard bays. There are no suitable tables at all for wheelchair users in the bar area which is frustrating. They did make an exception for us and allow us to take some bar food upstairs to the restaurant which helped a bit but the having to go downstairs to order that food and all of the drinks and then go back upstairs felt like a total faff. My biggest issue is the fact that the tv in our room did not work and maintenance do not work on weekends. We were told if we wanted a working tv then we would have to move rooms which was not convenient for us. For something so small it felt like it should have been easily sorted but instead the hotel policy has left us disappointed and frustrated.

The reception staff and the bar staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. They were very quick in answering my questions prior to our stay which was really appreciated.

It was fairly clean and for the price I paid for 1 night is was just about acceptable.

Some of the decor in the public areas was a bit faded but it wasn't dirty just a bit tired.

Fantastic welcoming and helpful staff. Really nice people. It is not a luxury hotel but the accommodation was clean and comfortable and the evening meal was OK and good value at £12:50 for 3 courses.

The car park is terrible, most of it is just rough ground full of pot holes, so lots of puddles and very muddy, so when you are trying to unload car , you really don’t want to put any cases/bags down , and can’t wheel your suitcase. There were ants in our room . It was so late, we just needed to sleep, but did tell them when we checked out. However as it was an early checkout, there was only the night porter, who wasn’t interested. He just said “ok”.

Location for airport is good and easy to find. Check in staff were great.

We were in what they call the lodge. And I've stayed there 3 times now and every single time the corridors of the lodge absolutely smell of weed or marijuana.

It's very pleasant talking to reception staff whom are very helpful, the bar area is populated by workmen that stay out all week and use the place as temporary digs... menu very Good for pub grub.
