How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I stayed in an Executive Suite which desperately needs updating. The furniture was very old and in a poor state and the bathroom very old fashioned.
The room was very spacious, and the main areas of the hotel have been nicely renovated. Lots of parking. Dinner in the restaurant was very good. Water and some snacks in the room were a pleasant surprise.

There was only the standard terrestrial tv channels but the wifi was great and I had my iPad so I watched Netflix
The staff were really welcoming and helpfrul. The room was very spacious and on check-in I was asked if I wanted to be on ground floor or upstairs which I thought was great. The bed was comfy and plenty of pillows. Bathroom was clean and spotless and lots of towels available.

The room.we had was for 3 people elderley relative travelling with us. We only had one night room was fine although bathroom needs upgrading soon

The bathroom was a little tired...
Welcoming and helpful staff. Large and comfortable room. Loved the touch of the twix bar with the tea/coffee. Hot breakfast freshly cooked to order. Lots of variety of food on offer for breakfast. So kind - allowed us to check out an hour later for free once they found out we were attending a funeral.

Web site suggests there is a 24 hour bar, there isn’t. No fridge in the room. No safe in the room. The roof leaked on us in the conservatory whilst we were having breakfast.
Clean good sized room. The bed was a king size, fully functional shower. Tv in room. Plenty of coat hangers.

Some areas require updating which they seem to be in process.
Perfect location for our stay. Plenty parking. Friendly, helpful staff. Great food. Spacious, comfortable rooms.

Nice location. Clean and comfortable rooms. I paid for 2 hours longer check out which staff weren’t made aware of so had a number of knocks on the door and repeatedly telling staff I wasn’t due to check out, then reception wanted me to pay again for late checkout, notes need to be made so staff are aware.

Only reason it’s not a 10/10 score is because my living room light wasn’t working and I needed it to do my make up.
Property is lovely and well kept. Though the decor may be a bit dated for some tastes, it is spotless and the rooms are like suites - really spacious and comfortable. Staff really friendly and welcoming.

Lovely room, good facilities, only issue was the mattress felt like it could have been renewed, a little less luxurious than chain hotels.
Great location for my needs, good quality room, lovely bathroom with great shower. Controllable heating and exceptionally clean. Can't fault the room, the surroundings, the staff service and the parking was plentiful. I would definitely recommend.

The only comment is that there is no option in the restaurant which includes vegetables
Andrea, on reception, was our star this weekend. Noting I was on crutches, and recognising the hotel was busy, she quickly identified the room allocated was unsuitable due to the number of steps involved. She reviewed the system and sourced an alternative....and what a lovely room too........thank you Andrea. The food in the restaurant was great too, and I thoroughly enjoyed my rib-eye steak. A very pleasant stay. We will look to return

Nothing! It was exactly what we expected from the price and photos on booking.com.
Comfortable bed and good size family room. Bathroom was immaculate, and there was plenty of hot water. The bar was welcoming and staff were extremely helpful and attentive. We really loved our stay, we would not hesitate to stay again as it was such good value for our trip.
