Staff were not going to be retained during refurishment - shame. Refurbishment is exciting as needs a lift due to age, but still a lovely place to stay.

Great staff - we visited just before they had the builders move in for redecoration and redevelopment. Lovely location and really pleasant part of the world.

This hotel obviously needs updating. The room (premium lakeview) was good but with very modern decor, which did not suite this hotel. The evening in the bar was depressing (we had a quick drink and left). But I hope the planned renovation will not make this hotel too modern and "luxury" (with unaffordable prices).

A country house hotel with character and faded glory, in a good location, close to Broadway. Spacious room (but premium). Extermly friendly breakfast staff (and a decent breakfest too)

The hot water wasn't very hot and one of the wash basin taps was loose.

The room is small but as I was alone it was ok for me.

The location is really superb. There were sheep all around and quiet peaceful . Its not far from local village to go and shop. The breakfast was really nice in morning. Washroom also good size.

Wife has mobility problems, so handrails in the shower/bath area would be really helpful. Rump steak was too tough; my wife couldn't chew it. Sad, otherwise the dinner would have been perfect.

Staff were delightful - from Reception to waiting staff in the restaurant. Hotel was imposing, inside and out. Dinner was mostly excellent. Tomato Soup, mushroom dish, hake, pannacotta, sticky toffee pudding all excellent. Kleine Kalze Chenin Blanc was also excellent. The lift was so quiet, you didn't know it was moving! Breakfast was excellent!

The television was quite dated and only contained a limited number of channels. Prior to my visit I was unable to locate a menu on the website detailing the food available in the evening.

The setting is spectacular and the hall, with its corridors and main staircase is like something from a Scooby Doo film. There is ample parking which is very close to the main entrance.

Nothing not to like here just maybe a little freshening up of the decor would improve it no end. However in these difficult times it is totally understandable.

Everything was as we expect, polite friendly service and the breakfast selection was brilliant. You will not find a better location for miles with Cotswolds to explore on the doorstep.

No negatives to be had it was all good.

A great location and the Hotel is an impressive sight as you approach it along the drive. We had a room overlooking the grounds at the front of the hotel with it's magnificent Cedar trees. A short walk takes you to Dumbleton, a sleepy Cotswold village well worth a stroll around. The food in the restaurant was good , not exceptional but then it was very reasonably priced so no complaints there. Breakfast was also excellent, always good to get hot food on a hot plate.

Would have liked oat milk for our coffees as not everyone drinks dairy. Unfortunately on our stay they did not have oat milk.

If one had to nit pick it would be the fact that the desserts served at the restaurant are not fresh and the vegetarian selection for the dinner menu was quite limiting.

Stunning building filled with history and beautiful grounds to roam around in. Loved how dog-friendly the hotel is allowing to bring our small dog with us to spend our weekend getaway together. Excellent service by the staff as well.
