Door locks were sticking and tricky to use. Mattress in bedroom a little lumpy and a bedside table only on one side.

There was a lack of accessible plug points in the room. The bathroom was a bit austere, and a couple of hooks in there would have been useful.

Not a negative. Hotel is popular for golfers so my wife was only lady at one point but would still recommend the hotel for all the other plus'.

Excellent location. Lovely little town. Staff, room and food all excellent. Waitrose opposite for the day's sandwiches. We only stayed one night as we were continuing our tour but would have been happy to stay longer.

Only issue I had was not being able to sleep for a while, with the guests above me.as their was alot of noise, and this was about 1 am. Knowing I would be up early to get breakfast then check out.

I loved my stay and my room was perfect for the price I paid. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere of the place was perfect. The restaurant was lovely and the food was amazing and so was breakfast, atmosphere was lovely. Surrounding area was perfect for a walk to the beach and up the nature trial. I really loved my stay and would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit Aberlady.

Room was comfortable and you can see they have started refurbishing but the bathroom was tired.

Breakfast was very good although served in the bar the atmosphere was warm, relaxed and friendly.

All the people who worked in the hotel could not have been more friendly and helpful. Great customer service. The restaurant had a warm and cosy ambiance, which was comfortable for both breakfast and dinner. The dinner menu was varied and the food was delicious.

Bar prices bit expensive not a great deal to choose from on restaurant menu food expensive for what it was found the food not to be anything special for the price paid just found everything to be overpriced for the establishment I know the cost of living has spiralled but i don't mind paying for what something is worth

Some of the rooms have been updated - but not ours. The prices they are charging are probably reasonable for a modern room but not for the room we were in, which was very dated and scruffy. The bed in particular was very bad, composed of two small mattresses of different heights. The bathroom was also past its glory days. The worst element was the proximity of our room to the bar. A live band played until round 12.30 am, and we could hear it very clearly. This was not something we expected from a rural country hotel themed around the local nature reserve and golfing links!

Aberlady is a stunning location overall, and the Duck's Inn is at the center of it. There's a good convenience store across the road and the Duck's Inn bar and restaurant are both great. Both the included breakfast and the evening dining were excellent.
