How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Trees need trimming in car park. Slight issues but then perhaps I am mega picky but we were out and about most days as was attending a Wedding.
Good central location and well equipped and thought out. Great to have a parking space so near to everything.

Lovely wee flat right in the city centre and the free parking was a great bonus. Flat had everything we needed for our stay including washing up liquid and tea towels etc which we have never had at any other place we have booked! Nice welcome gifts too 👍

Black mould around the bedroom window, which looked a bit unsightly.

Found tv difficult to operate - couldn't get the basic BBC 1 BBC2, ITV 1, 2, 3 channels to watch live TV.. Sofa looked nice but wasn't very comfortable to sit on for long periods eg stayed indoors due to terrible weather outside.
Location superb, ease of access to property, facilities very good, nice and modern, dedicated parking on site.

Perfect apartment to stay in! Location is great for exploring Chester everything is right on the doorstep. A definite home from home feel to the place, every amenity needed and exceptionally clean and comfy. Would recommend and looking forward to our next stay already.

Location of the property is perfect, central to everything you’d want to see in Chester. The owner is extremely helpful and even left some extras for us on arrival. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property

The owner, Gary, was very kind and courteous.Since it was a long stay, they were quick to respond to requests such as changing towels and replenishing toilet paper.Since it was a long stay, they also changed the sheets.The room was warm and never cold.The kitchen was stocked with various utensils, so I didn't have any trouble cooking.Also, access to the town was excellent.

It took quite a while to figure out how the heaters worked as there’s a delay between setting the temp and them actually switching on, but we figured it out in the end!
Location was fantastic and it was v well appointed for our stay. Particularly appreciated the little touches and the directions from the host when we got a bit lost close to the location!

Location is perfect and the parking is a blessing
Amazing, the host is flexible and consistent with contact, the extra treats were a surprise. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back to stay again.

Be mindful it is accessed by two flights of stairs so is not accessible for people with restricted mobility. But everything for us was perfect! .
The location is superb . The appartment is extremely clean and well equipped..the shower is worth the stay on its own! We stay here every year ...so please dont book it in January!!!!

Excellent location right in the heart of Chester. Apartment has everything you need, lovely modern bathroom and kitchen. Bonus car park. Great communication with owners and nice treat on arrival.

A very minor point but it would be good to have somewhere to put non-hanging clothes
Great quiet location but so close to city centre, clean and so relaxing. Bed really comfortable, shower superb, kitchen well equipped. Parking space a big plus.

Location - A very quiet apartment yet so close to everything. A perfect spot to walk to all key touristy places in Chester. The full walk around the old walls is well worth doing early in your visit, enjoyable and helpful for getting bearings. Do try The Albion pub at the end of the road, charming and the home cooked meals delicious. The apartment is also such an easy walk to Chester’s lovely main streets for shopping and dining. We thought we might need to rent a car for our visit but found we didn’t need to. We easily used public transport for a couple of outings to Chester Zoo and to Liverpool. If arriving to Chester by train the short taxi ride was only five pounds to the apartment. That being said if you do have a car there is a car park spot for you in the courtyard immediately outside the building entrance. Comfort and ambiance -A very good size for a one bedroom apartment, spotlessly clean,good lighting, a very comfortable bed and good seating in the lounge, not at all cramped. Good bathroom as well. We cooked at bit and kitchen was perfectly equipped and comfortable to do this, unlike may of the one bedroom AirBNB’s we’ve stayed in. Host- Gary the host’s communication and assistance was excellent. His information manual for Chester and the apartment is very helpful so do take a look at it. Finally we very much appreciate welcome treats Gary left for us to find on our arrival

For us tall people, the sofa was very low, but that’s personal requirement! There could be a few more items in the kitchen, crockery was a bit sparse with small plates.
Great appartment central to Chester, very easy access to town centre and the river. The appartment was beautifully clean and up to date furnishings. The host obviously go the extra mile to make sure guests are comfortable, including leaving a few chocolates and wine - a nice touch! The bed was amazingly comfortable, good quality linen and mattress.

Nothing really. There was some scaffolding up because as a grade 2 listed building there was important heritage stuff going on during our stay but completely respect that. Didn't impact on our stay whatsoever. We went out for the day and they had gone before we returned about 4 pm. Didn't even see them there before 10 am.
Amazingly comfy bed. Quiet, despite the proximity to major attractions. Lovely, indulgent bathroom.
