Menu was a little Limited and phone reception was poor (not hotels fault whole area is a dead zone).

The staff were friendly and chatty. Food was excellent. Pub dog was friendly. Great WiFi and breakfast was able to be interchanged along with being tasty and well done

The bar area is a bit basic and the evening menu may be limited for some. It was fine for me and the pie, chips and peas standard offering was very good. But if your tastes differ then plan to visit some of the other evening meal options locally - they have a list with contact details in the guest info pack.

A lovely place to stay and the room was fitted out to a high standard. Comfy bed, great shower, good lighting and effective WiFi (which is handy as O2 mobile signal doesn't reach to here!) I only had a coffee and toast breakfast but full English (or veggie alternative) is available - again, everything was to a high standard. Yvonne and James are welcoming and work hard to make sure everything is the best it can be.

The breakfast was a bit too greasy, and fried eggs were runny, but it was a decent size. Would be good to have the dog walking map showing 'you are here' and also footpath walks by the church.

The room itself there was what looked like a tea stain down the wall/skirting and there was a stain under the sink in the bathroom. Unsure if the sink is leaking from pipes but looks quite tatty and needs to be painted. We had the radiator on low as was quite chilly, but it was very loud and so we had to turn it off in the night. The communal area you walk through to get to your door is very clever the way is like outside inside, but full of spiders and dead flies so needs a bit more attention. The breakfast was OK but the bread which I believe is homemade was cut far too thick so was a doorstep sandwich which was too much for me in the morning. It also took almost half an hour for us to get our cooked food despite us being the only guests in when we ordered. We only had bacon sandwiches too so was surprised at the time.

We had the triple room. The king bed and room itself were huge, and the bathroom looked quite new with a floor standing bath and a separate shower. There is a separate entrance to the main building and you can come and go as you please. Breakfast was included which made what we paid for the three of us really sensible. The hotel had out three of everything in the room which was perfect. Checkout was really easy.

Nothing in particular I didn't like, you'd say a little quiet at the bar but that's what I went for. Hotel dog wasn't sure of mine but can't always guarantee everyone will be friends, we all worked together to make it work.

( only very minor, but hopefully constructive comments:) 1) the bathroom door needs some planing/adjustment at the bottom,in order to close properly 2) the shower plug hole needs a deep clean 3) the jacket potato offering in the bar would be more appetising if accompanied by a side salad ( even if the price adjusted upwards)

Yvonne made us very welcome. The room (no.1) was spacious and very comfortable….we didn’t hear much traffic noise. Also, the bathroom was very modern and spacious
