Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAlthough advertised as a "small double", the room was very compact, more than we thought it would be.
Good location, in the town centre, just what we wanted for our stay.

United KingdomThe host was quite negative on telling us on arrival, no food after 7.30pm and there would be no breakfsst and that we had to be out of our rooms by 10am the following morning. We had been to a function got wet through arriving back in the bar at 9.30pm to be told they were closing at 10pm! Taking into account all of the above I felt the room was very much overpriced!
The room was comfortable, very clean and well decorated. The bed was comfy with crispy sheets, room 'six' 😉 Good tea & coffee making facilities Nice bathroom with plenty of toiletries and nice fluffy white towels.. Car parking was available and we had no problem using a space. Our stay was for one night.

United Kingdom`Optional breakfast' £14-95' stated on the booking com site? No, you had to go to a cafe 100 yards away, And it didn't open its doors till 9am. Had to make do with what i could get from the Coop opposite...Lighting in room all very modern but really dark corners for the desk and the kettle. Needs a couple of extra lamps. And I don't like square toilet seat - I am not a robot!
Room and bed comfortable and clean, But only 1 chair for a double room. Location excellent

United KingdomParking. There was supposed to be limited parking on site but there was NON. We were very stressed about finding somewhere to park and had to get up on Sunday morning at 8oclock to feed the meter. Then there was no parking across the road overnight on Sunday evening due to the market being there on Monday morning unless you were prepared to get up at 5am and move your car somewhere else! It spoilt the whole experience as the place and the town were amazing.
Food was good. Location.

United KingdomThere is no overnight parking at the pub itself. We tried two of the main car parks in the town but both of those also had no overnight parking available. The only option suggested by the tourist information office was to park in one of those, then move the car to the Co-op car park directly outside the pub, then move again at 8am the next morning. Not very convenient! The lady at the Peacock pointed us in the direction of the car park on Granby Road. This is about a 2 minute walk (once you find the shortcut). Overnight parking is restricted to the rear of the car park, otherwise limited to 4 hrs. Parking is best paid for using the ‘Paytopark’ app. I would advise setting it up in advance.
The Peacock is a lovely pub right in the heart of Bakewell. The rooms are well equipped and spotlessly clean. Bakewell itself is beautiful, with lots to see and do. We didn’t eat at the pub, but the menu looked good, and reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great place for a short break in the beautiful peaks.

United KingdomJust the lack of 24 hour parking in and around the area. We ended up parking a mile out.
The location was central which was great to explore Bakewell and the surrounding areas. The bedroom was spacious and clean as expected, the landlady was very kind by taking in our luggage a couple of hours before check in.

United KingdomBed was 2 beds pushed together which would be fine as you would expect a mattress topper to cover the join of the 2 beds however there was only the fitted sheet therefore the 2 ridges of the beds protruded through were very hard and made for a very uncomfortable night sleep. If you moved in the bed and onto the ridge was incredibly uncomfortable. nowhere to hang clothes room was very spacious and could accommodate a small rail at least of some kind but nothing at all. wanted to speak to someone the next morning but premised all locked and shutter up into main part, access was via back door. when I returned later that day after completing Cancer Research Big Hike I spoke with staff about the bed and all was told was that they would mention to cleaners - not much good and a second uncomfortable night sleep. also told none of the rooms have any facilities for hanging clothes. I’ve stayed in many very small B&Bs where even small wardrobe is provided. No breakfast provided but £170 per night I paid would expect breakfast surely. Also parking a major issue, public car park directly opposite which was great but parking overnight night expired 8am so had to dash out of bed before then to add new ticket to cover me until check out. surely premises could issue permits you pay for to cover you until checkout time?? overall beautiful location but very expensive for room only and a very uncomfortable bed, no hanging facilities and staff not really bothered or apologetic or sympathetic to bed issue. maybe you’re just paying for location but not a property I would return to unfortunately
beautiful location

United KingdomIt was overly priced for what you got. The coffee wasn't replenished so we didn't have any on the second morning. The Hallway to the room was possibly over the kitchen as it very much smelled of over used cooking oil.
The location was great. The room was large with a queen sized bed.

There have been some changes there is no longer brakefast, and the evening menu has been revised but none of this has been updated on website or on the information on back of room door, .Room was good size shower and large bath was a fabulous bonus

United KingdomNo breakfast on offer, and the pub closed at around 8 to half past, which was somewhat disappointing.
The room was beautiful, set in a separate building at the side of the pub itself, with its own stone staircase up to the rooms. The 4 poster room was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed with dressing table and wardrobe along with a sofa. The meals in the peacock were wonderful and the staff were friendly.
