The room availability at 3pm just doesn’t fit with the flight into campbelltown airport at 9am. Perhaps an1.30/2pm would be better

It’s a beautiful hotel and very traditional. Comfortable room and we had a lovely view over the marina

The hotel is getting a bit tired now with various furniture a bit battered.

Lovely staff and especially Maggie- Anne she was lovely. Everyone in Campbeltown were brilliant and so friendly and welcoming. We had an amazing stay made all teh better by the weather which was glorious.

Lighting in the room could have been brighter.

Lovely staff, clean comfortable room, street parking across the road. The bathroom and shower were modern and spacious. Visiting relatives so did not use hotel’s dining room. The views from our window out on to the harbour, water and the hills above the town were exceptional.

In my humble opinion, a little overpriced but i get that there are not a lot of hotels in that area so the hotels get away with the pricing. Our trip was very last minute so we had no alternative to pay what they asked as everywhere else was full apart from The Royal and that was probably due to the cost.

Lovely old hotel in a fantastic location. Large rooms with a big comfy bed and everything you need for an overnight stay. Staff were all great and very helpful.

The bathroom door stuck which meant we couldn't close it properly but other than that absolutely nothing.

Not too impressed with the breakfast. The waitress who served us was lovely, and very friendly, but given that we paid more for breakfast than we did for dinner, it wasn't as good as you'd expect for the price paid. The hot water (for tea) wasn't nearly hot enough, and you couldn't help yourself to toast etc. as you can in other (cheaper) hotels.

Lovely room, and there being a lift was a real boon to my husband, who is a stroke survivor and struggles with stairs.

The food was very disappointing and the extras in the room were very disappointing for the price. I've jad better tea and coffee facilities in a B&B guest house at half the price

The hotel was lovely if slightly expensive for what it was compared to others I've stayed in.

Comfortable and friendly hotel but avoid the restaurant

We ate in the restaurant on the first evening - a big mistake. The food was really poor and I would steer clear. We were misadvised about the wine (but the waitress did replace this free of charge). After this awful experience at dinner, we decided to not even have breakfast here on the following two mornings. The restaurant really lets the hotel down.

We received the most wonderfully warm welcome from Caroline, a bubbly and engaging lady. Our room was large, double aspect with a sizeable bathroom and separate shower. The bed was comfortable (for some reason the duvet was very lumpy), decorated nicely and had everything we needed.

It may have been because the hotel stayed without guests during Covid, but the cleanliness of the hallways, curtains, etc. was poor.

Beautiful historic hotel on the waterfront. On site restaurant and bar, walking distance to distilleries.

Jo on reception was kind enough to call to check on our journey and planned route due to the weather conditions and advise us of road closures on one route we were thinking about. consequently, we took the Gourock-Dunoon and Portavadie-Tarbert route and avoided most of the snow. The room was very comfortable, the staff kind and thoughtful and we enjoyed the food.

The menu was disappointing with regards food on offer, e.g. curry and burgers. Would like to have seen more local produce/offerings. And no cheeseboard on offer at all! opportunity to 'sell' local cheeses and other produce missed.
