A couple of areas are in need of an update but the hotel was clean and in an ideal position for our weekend. The staff were very welcoming on arrival and were courteous and helpful throughout our stay. Parking was easy with lots of available spaces. Rooms were at a good temperature which may sound like an odd comment but room temperature is often difficult to get right. The food (evening meal and breakfast) were also very good. Not quite excellent but very good overall.

The beds were comfortable, although the sheets whilst clean had a few marks and tears in them. The bathroom had a stain on the floor and there was a scum mark on the sink

The evening meal was excellent, well cooked and sensible portion sizes. Breakfast was also very good, but we waited 20 minutes to be served and then a further 30 minutes before the food arrived which doesnt help when you have a work schedule to keep to

The bedrooms could be a bit cleaner, and all of the carpets need renewing.

All the Staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was fantastic, all of the rooms are huge with comfortable chairs, you can also go in the lively bar or the quiet comfortable lounge.

USE THIS HOTEL FREQUENTLY DUE TO LOCATION FOR WORK EVENTS. SO PLEASED TO SEE THAT ROOMS WERE BEING REFURBISHED THIS YEAR, AS THEY HAD BEGUN TO LOOK A LITTLE OUTDATED. SOME CARPETS STILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. BREAKFAST HAS ALWAYS BEEN FABULOUS, EVENING MEALS VERY PLEASANT AS WELL. COSY AMBIENCE IN THE BAR - ALL IN ALL VERY COMFORTABLE STAY.

Steep stairs up to my room which was a struggle with luggage. If have some mobility issues or heavy case suggest asking for room on lower floor

In general, the cleanliness was very good apart from a very mouldy safety mat in the bathroom! The proportions were very generous at dinner, perhaps compromising quality over quantity. The decor is a little dated but that didn’t bother us at all. I did have fun counting all the different carpets in the communal areas.

Pleasant spacious room. Helpful staff, particularly young man who served us dinner and breakfast. Very wide choice of cooked options at breakfast as well as cold buffet. Good value and generous! tasty!

The room we had was inside a corridor with no access to the outside to allow fresh air in, the room was very warm, my wife and I both woke up sweating, the aircon in the room didn't work. We were told that the hotel was updating it all. Cooked breakfast for £13 each was very disappointing, well cooked and edible but very small, why even bother putting a spoonful of beans in a pot?

Room was good and the bed and pillows very comfortable, it just needs to be cooler to allow a good nights sleep. Far enough from the road so we didn't hear any traffic. Bathroom is large and has enough items for a shower for 2.
