Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandIf the hotel was charging a 4 * prices , I wouldn't be mentioning any of the below issues, but it isn't so... The TV was a very basic model, and we only had irish channels remote was flimsy and not completely functional. There was no Netflix or BBC or sky There is a bit too much large brown antique furniture in the corridors they are very large and seem out if place more like were left over and put on corridors for storage? In our rooms, most of the brown furniture was very scratched, and drawers and doors were sticking. There is no lift up and down for the spa from 2nd floor my mum is very elderly and finds stairs difficult. I really think a 5 star hotel should have a small fridge with fresh milk in the rooms ... not uht sachets. I think 60pp charge to use the jacuzzi 1 steam room and 1 tropical shower is excessive. I would have been happy to pay 20 for a couple of hours. I've been to other 5 star hotels where this is included in the room rate. The treatments were far out of our price range, so I didn't try those. The shower in our room was quite weak. The canopy over the front door cheapens the exterior of the building. It's a tarp material that is green it just wasn't what i was expecting. no ramp up to front door for elderly or inside door.
Firstly the staff from start to finish are outstanding, they are so professional yet friendly and not in any way unapproachable the head waiter in the restaurant couldn't have been more helpful, my daughter is coeliac and he went above and beyond to assist. The food was the best I've had in any restaurant anywhere, it was expensive but you get what you pay for. The outdoor jacuzzi and the pool are fantastic, and facilities in the spa are pretty special, The rooms are large, airy, and very comfortable beds, and bathrooms were beautifully appointed with lovely products. Amazing views from the dining room and that jacuzzi ..wow

United KingdomWe had a deluxe room overlooking the sea. The views were amazing but the bedroom and lounge area felt dated and tired. It was immaculately clean just felt outdated. The bathroom has been updated and was pure luxury. The other issue (which I am not sure how you fix in an old building) is the noise from the room above. Every step in the bedroom and bathroom could be heard which was distracting and surprising.
The customer service and attention to detail was outstanding. From arriving in the car park and help with luggage to the restaurant staff and the housekeeping and reception staff. All very diligent and incredibly kind

United KingdomFor their price the rooms we were offered initially were disappointing. On the small side with a "garden view" that was restricted and not of the main garden and bay which is a major feature of the hotel's location. The beds had no duvets and only sheets and blankets and the mattresses weren't particularly comfortable. Strangely the sheets were undersized for the king-sized mattress, so wouldn't tuck in securely. The decor of the rooms tried too hard to present a bygone era of grandeur, in my and my daughter's opinions. Very heavy bedspreads and curtains with many dark old paintings and portraits. The result was a bit gloomy!
The public areas and restaurant were excellent. The spa was really exceptional with a 25 metre lap pool, sauna and full gym facilities. The staff were first rate. Welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The General Manager called TJ was simply delightful and a true professional who without hesitation upgraded our rooms when we mentioned our concerns as detailed below. Could not have been more helpful.

United StatesI liked everything about it!
This Relais and Chateux hotel is in a perfect location in Kenmare, and has beautiful, traditional facilities. We spent three wonderful nights here visiting from the U.S. on our first trip to Ireland, and received flawless service. The food was first class, as were the linens, toiletries, and accomodations, and there was a very comfortable bed. We also loved the gardens and walkways which are contiguous with a park, so it is easy to do a 3-mile easy and relaxing loop walk combining gardens, woods, and water (you can also continue the walk by incorporating the town Heritage Walk).

IrelandThe suites were very comfortable, although there was no iron board and iron in the room (perhaps request one on arrival), no safe, no A/C, nor wine glasses for that special occasion. Mirrors and hair drying will be a challenge, so bring one with a long lead. Small insignificants, but you can request everything most items from the hotel reception.
The Park Hotel is a fantastic retreat for a short getaway with delicious food, a relaxing spa, piano lounge, golf, and beautiful walks around the grounds of this historic hotel. A special mention for the staff who were courteous and friendly but never overwhelming. Free tea and carrot cake in the afternoon, exactly the tonic after a long walk. We also had a free electric charge point at our disposal, so the little things really do help!
