Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyMe and my wife, as well as another couple in the same building, had difficulty accessing our rooms because payment was not processed. I’ve not had this type of issue with other bookings via this website before. It wasn’t until I had arrived for check in and called the provided number that I was provided a link to finalize payment. Additionally, the directions sent were not clear regarding how to input the room access code (specifically how to activate the lock so that we could input the access code). As a result, we activated a security feature that locked us out of the room for a few minutes; I had pressed the black button at the top of the lock thinking that would turn on the backlight so that I could see the numbers.
It was clean, comfortable, a good location, and very affordable.

United KingdomNo communication re check-in. Reviews I saw on booking referred to lovely helpful staff but there are no staff on site. No signage re how to check in-another guest had to tell us to use the pad on the door. We had to give personal details on the street. Once we had the email with access code we got in OK. However there is no instructions on closing the door and once we had worked out we needed to use the entry code we had managed to lock the code. To speak on the pad and sort it out took 3 attempts as it times out after 2 minutes
Clean rooms although small and some poor finishing. Could also do with anther shelf or storage unit. Fridge useful. Parking good although not dedicated to hotel as implied in details. Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets in area

United KingdomNo staff on site & multiple issues with the keypads meant we had to call twice to be able to gain access. Bedroom door didn’t fully seal, which allowed the wind to cause it to bang throughout the night.
Spacious room, comfortable bed, powerful shower, clean & peaceful. Remote staff quick to respond & helpful.

IcelandComfy, no human interaction needed. Clean. One of three flaws, there is a very loud bathroom fan in the room. You can listen to it wich is, not very calming -or shut the whole electricity OFF. And a was lucky, but not that lucky, because it burned out the motor or something. But the FAN WAS ON when i came. So to the staff, you leave it of, and in the others room my friends. So its not about the electricity. In the staffs mind. And you cant charge your phone at night without earplugs. Two, there was some people tryning to hit the code in my door lock panel couple of times, wich could be the staff, but that would be strange. But they changed it the next day without a text message so think God i had the phone wich brings me to the third flaw, maybe it was the phone that the staff member used maybe the Speaker on the frost door panel. I just heard broken words, but a guy, not working there, could hear this number he said 3"***"and hashtag, he said said the right code but i would not have thought i heard the same code. Then the door was ringing button noises right before noon the morning after, first some Quick too many peeps, silent, then again, the made some nose by clearing my voice loudly, and the person walked right away and down the staircase. Very strange. Mabye a thief or a homeless person. But a great place. Recommend it. Almoat 10 out of 10, but the panet Speaker gives 9.5 They can not control thiefs or a homeless person. But the doors are strong soundproof but the chime from the room code panel is not possibly from next door. They where top notch.

NetherlandsThat the door handle from outside don't works sometimes and you have to put simply your code again and then it will closed. Maybe advice to put that in the instructions? 😉 Also the window at this room was difficult to close, it closed on a different way then you regularly used to it.
Excellent beautiful modern room (bed, bathroom etc.) just like on the photo's. It's a recent build new hotel, that's why. Only around 10 minutes walk from beginning main street (foodhall/BSI bus platform). If book earlier is average cheaper then the ones in and around the city centre. No noise from people outside, because quiet neighborhood. You can sleep much better also rooms are more isolated.

NetherlandsThe self check in was good, I only forgot to pay true the payment link send by the accommodation true booking (my fault), but then you can access to you room. You have to call the helpdesk of the accommodation and they will fix it. You have to pay by a new link they send and after they received it you can open the door. It takes around 10 minutes. So if the code don't work, that could ve the problem ;) Further first night other people think my room was there, they try to open the door with their code but then in the end the alarm of the door goes off after three times wrong. In the end they know it and leave. I dont't open the door, because was middle in the night and sleeping. But then I was thinking all you person belonings and electronics like camera if you gonna away take it with you, because you never known.
Modern and beautiful room with great bathroom with shower/toilet facilities. Also good bedroom and it's more isolated then the older rooms middle in the city which are double expensive and outdated, some need really a recovery ;) This hotel is new, it's like having your own appartement. Almost 9 straks for me. Friendly people when you call at the helpdesk if there is something. It's around 10 minutes walk to the city main street (beginning, area where the BSI bus station is located and a foodhall).

United KingdomSmall room, there was no reception to check in however the instructions were clear. Very thin walls, and my room was right next to the main door so I could hear a big slam of the door every time someone closed it.
Clear instructions for self check in. It was fine for one night. very clean and modern room

United StatesMainly: The shower flooded the entire bathroom floor and out onto the bedroom floor all the way to the fridge. (Alerted the hotel.) The pillows were too big and firm. Washcloths would have been nice, especially since when trying to wash my face without a washcloth, I hit my head on the shelf below the mirror. It was impossible to bend my face down to the faucet without hitting my head on the shelf.
The room was beautiful, and I liked the simple check-in and checkout. (An introvert's dream!) Very clear instructions. Walking distance to downtown was great too. And when I did have questions and sent an email, the responses were quick.

United KingdomThe room was small, but comfortable. However, other than a tiny shelf at one side of the bed there was nowhere even to put car keys, phone and wallet, let alone sit with a laptop. I've therefore marked down as I had to sit on bed with laptop on my knees :(. If you're travelling for fun, and don't need a desk, then Aska is perfect. I daresay there may be larger (and more expensive) rooms available in the hotel, but Iceland is expensive enough!
Immaculately presented hotel with plenty of on-street parking. It's just a short (but chilly in March!) into town where there are an excellent selection of restaurants. Great information from the staff on reception. Fast internet, and a modern TV that I could easily cast to from my phone.

United StatesThe layout could be a bit confusing. I agree with the other reviews that the sink was a nuisance. Nothing that is a deal breaker. It is nice to stay a bit outside of Central Reykjavík to have more peace and quiet at night.
Great location. There is a great coffee shop nearby called Bókasamlagið that is perfect and also Loving Hut is nearby plus Krónan and I think Bonus. Loved the bathroom design.
