No shampoo and conditioner amenities. There is no restaurant for dinner inside the hotel.

Location is great, right next to the national park. Self check-in very convenient. Best shower of the entire trip.

It was the strangest set up I've ever seen. It is a self check in and check out with no staff. This in itself is weird but it looked like a converted nursing home. It was basic, basic, basic with no soul. If that is what you are looking for then go for it. I think there were better options closer to the park

The facility was very clean, spotless in fact

It was our first experience with “no reception” arrival but it worked very well. Email received day of our arrival provided code for entry to hotel and code for room. The rooms were exceptionally clean.

This was not worth the cost - at all. The most expensive hotel we stayed at during our Iceland tour and the worst. First there was no reception staff, except during breakfast hours. Needed to use phone in entryway to call person who confirms one code for front door, our room number an code for the room. When another couple had trouble with the system, the manager reluctantly drove over. There were only 3 room occupied the night we stayed and the very nice people at Gilbakki Kaffihus, next door, said that was normal and the locals were very disappointed since the hotel changed hands. We had a room for 3 with 4 twin beds. Only one set of beds had night stands. Only 1 chair in the room. Towels were thin and no bath mat. No ice machine, no bar - essentially no amenities what so ever except breakfast. We would like a refund!!!

    Breakfast was decent.

There is NO staff!! And no guests!! We were the only ones there - creepy!! Apparently, this is the way this place is all the time. It is remote check in - no staff and only one or two rooms occupied. Also, we had to change rooms because the rooms on the first floor smelled like sewage.

    It was clean.

Worst quality/price ratio we had during our 2 weeks holiday in Island! The hotel is much too expensive for what it is. Bad smell in the room. The shower curtain does not reach the floor so it is impossible to take a shower without flooding the floor. And for that price, we could at least expect to have a shower carpet... Hotel to avoid absolutely.

The only interest of this hotel is the location.

Lots of things that should keep u away from that hotel! First and foremost is the checking in “process”, let’s just say that there is no one in the hotel, it’s like a ghost hotel! If u wanna get in, u need a code to the doors, but if u wanna have that u need to call the number (written on a hotel door) but it’s pointless as no one gonna answer it! After an hour of waiting, and calling booking.com service a guy came shouting my name loud on the parking lot. He either barely spoke English or pretended to do so, gave me codes to the doors and that’s it. No explanation, nothing! If u loose a card with codes…u r done! No one will help u to get back to your room! The room we got in was very basic, bad, chair, towels, but it was smelly! However we got no chance to change it as….there is no one in the hotel to talk to! Breakfast is not worth paying for it, and it’s served for one hour by the same guy who gave me a piece of paper with codes. U better go to the cafeteria on the other side of the parking lot, u can hear there that this hotel has been having such “overwhelming” stuff last few months and it’s better if u don’t use it! I am not sure why it has 3* or why they charge so much! bar, restaurant, everything is closed, abandoned!

Lots of parking space, took me a while to find something.

Phone call to get key code just beeped (was at hotel, 4:20 to 5:30). Tried for an hour. No one else at hotel. Had to make other last minute arrangements, fortunately there was availablity. Saw on booking.co. that Welcome Hotel had no availabilty and next availabilty was unknown. If there was a problem with the hotel, someone should have let me know beforehand (either hotel or booking.com).

Three possibilities why there was no breakfast: - All the staff have covid. - The staff refuses to wear masks and gloves. - Covid is used as an excuse just to have an easier life. The coffee-machine didn't make coffee. Wanted to be cleaned on the first morning. I tried that but it failed. After that some staff managed to clean it, but only because I left everything on the machine open. Nevertheless, on most mornings there was no coffee, because the machine had very often an Error30. Unplugging and plugging the power sometimes helped...for a while. We saw a bread roaster in the kitchen, but it was denied. New towels and toilet paper where only provided when you met staff and asked for it. The bed linens where not changed. Our baby had left a little poop on it. The baby bed we asked during booking was not provided.

There was a refrigerator in the dining room.

There was nobody there at checkin nor in the morning when we left. The restaurant and bar were closed, no breakfast and no supper. I stayed at this hotel some 15 years ago and found it excellent. Now it was only a place to sleep. No local TV, only satellites.

The rooms were fine, beds good and all clean. Easy access from parking area.

We arrived in the late afternoon and no staff there - which was not a big deal, we used the password to enter the hotel and the room. But the room had a weird smell, mostly came from the bathroom. Further, we found blood in the pillow case and a huge mosquito in the shower. During the two nights stay, no staff cleaned our room and no staff that we could complain/talk to. It’s really not worthy paying that much money with such low quality staying.

We were concerned that we had been told to arrive no later than 9 pm. Since our ferry arrived after 8:30 pm, and we had to drive an additional hour to the hotel, we were concerned that we might not being able to access the hotel. However, everything was okay even though we arrived after 10 pm.

The first morning we got a breakfast box for each one and it was not very good. The second morning there were more people in the hotel and breakfast was served and each person choose what to eat, much better.

The room we booked was for a hotel in Hellissabdur but it was closed so we were taken to a very old and run-down apartment building in Rif which is a different town. We learned from the locals that the hotel had been closed for months; long before we made our reservation but it was still being advertised as a hotel so false advertising of a hotel that not longer existed.

    Room was clean.
